Constellations

Constellations

A Poem by Fairieswithscales

See my problem is I know that we’re all
Independently our own galaxy
filled with the tumultuous chaos and beauty of space
Black holes
And nebulas
And feelings that burn like stars
Then feeling nothing when those stars burn out
We are all our own galaxy
And what a heavy burden to bear that is
The weight of that existence
That consciousness
The weight of being human
I wonder how God can stand it

And my problem is
When I fall in love
I expect my partner to be empty
A blank space
Someone I can unzip and invest my universe into
When it becomes too much for me to bear
Someone who has the room to hold the weight of me
When I just want to be weightless

Because you can’t fill up someone who is already full

But it is unfair to ask for that
To expect a person to be any different than they are

We are all built with god inside of us
That is just the consequence of being human

And there are no vacant souls here
