SomethingA Story by FairieswithscalesWork in progress
"I thought you didn't like cheez it's" he stated as he tossed his lunch sack onto the table and settled into the seat. The cafeteria was quiet today which made the broken cracker in my mouth sound even more cacophonous that it already is.
"Do you see me smil-eating?" He smirked at my response and I continued "I said I don't like them but I'm starving and this is food and it's the end of the world" my tongue explained while reluctantly accepting another vomit-cheese flavored square. He looked quizzical "end of the world?" I gestured to our less than audience who paid no attention to us with their faces buried in technology "look at all these zombies here staring into their phones. They don't even notice the living breathing conversation we're having. Keep quiet though they may hear us and get hungry enough to eat our story into a Snapchat feed" I warned with sarcastically wide opened eyes and let my lips fall apart into laughter. He let his irises sparkle with an answering smile. This was nice Comfortable conversation with a comfortable friend to break away from the anxiety underneath. This is peace. I am not suffocating today. © 2017 Fairieswithscales |
