Let My Spirit Go

Let My Spirit Go

A Poem by Faint

To drift into the wind is my dream.

A far away place

where you can not find me.

There I will be

         bathing in happiness.

There I will take

         my final rest

         my final bath

                      and cleanse myself of you.

You restrain me

        from reaching the waters

        from quinching my undying thirst.

You twist my arms behind my back

and all I would do was surrender.

I'm trying to rid myself of you

        of our sins

        your burdens

        and my memories of you.

You keep burrowing your way

        into my world

        into my sorrows

        and into my fear.

You existed so much in my life

        that I fear you

        dread you.

Turn around

        so that I can escape

so that I can escape into the winds

        to my final resting place

                         happiness.
