Flames Of Love

Flames Of Love

A Poem by uty13

You are FIRE.
You keep me warm
When times are cold,
You burn so smooth and bright,
Lighting the way ahead
Leading me down the better path.
All who dare touch you
Would burn before getting too close
As for me...
There is no such sting,
No burn,
No pain,
Just a touch so gentle and soft
Like fine silk brushing my body.
When angered,
Your rage is an inferno,
An eruption no living thing can escape.
In passion,
You dance with the beat of life,
Seducing and enchanting all who gaze.
You are FIRE,
Fire which ignites the endless candle of my heart.

One day the tinder will burn off
And that fire which illuminated all, shall fade.
Leaving you lost in the cold,
Alone to face a world of darkness,
For that flame was the only light I could see.
No sun,
No moon,
No stars
Would be able to dance like that fire.
A pile of ash on the floor,
A void in my heart.
Fire come back to me.
