It lives in darknessA Poem by uty13an experience that happened to me.Stalking eyes capture my every move, Its silence pierces my ears, Its face blinds me, Its breath cold and dry. Trying to reach for my phone, It touched me With its freezing cold bony hands, Sending a shiver down my spine. Solid in place I pray But it doesn’t go away. As it gets closer for the kill My heart beats frantically. The ghost moves through me, Its soul and mine collide. Breathless, I scream, But nothing broke the stillness of the room. Unconsciously, I jumped up, Still blind, I bolted straight to the door, Opened it, And what I saw soothed my soul, But not my eyes. A bright light, As if I had opened the doors to heaven, Struck the once darkened room and cleansed it. Scared I turn to find the fiend gone, Or was it ever really there? © 2015 uty13Author's Note
