As-SahraA Poem by Faeralyn
Once upon an Arabian night. I placed my feet upon rugs of shamans. Yards of indigo, veiled his façade. He took my hand, that mysterious face. He led me to the edge of a lake. A desert oasis, mirroring the stars. ‘Twas a night filled with the wind’s cool breath; I shivered in my woolen cloak. Darkness, my sister, on this journey by my side.
“Voyez.”
A sun-darkened finger, directed to the gods. A glimpse of light, a twinkling tail: A vision I never believed would be seen through my eyes. Yet still I wished, upon the falling speck as any dreamer would: in a trance, I hoped never to leave. © 2010 FaeralynReviews
