As-Sahra

As-Sahra

A Poem by Faeralyn

Once upon

an Arabian night.

I placed my feet upon rugs of shamans.

Yards of indigo,

veiled his façade.

He took my hand,

that mysterious face.

He led me to the edge of a lake.

A desert oasis,

mirroring the stars.

‘Twas a night filled

with the wind’s cool breath;

I shivered in my woolen cloak.

Darkness, my sister,

on this journey by my side.

“Voyez.”

A sun-darkened finger,

directed to the gods.

A glimpse of light,

a twinkling tail:

A vision I never believed

would be seen through my eyes.

Yet still I wished, upon the falling speck

as any dreamer would:

in a trance,

I hoped never to leave.

Another good job, congrats! I really loved the flow and rhyme of this and the imagery was wonderful. I think the only thing I missed was there being more! Great job. ;)

Very nicely written. You have talent to write, I think the photographer in you gives you an eye to see words. Nice work.
