Quintessence

Quintessence

A Poem by Faeralyn

Encasings fall,

shadows dance

True forms emerge,

as phoenixes rise

Intone with the chants

of archaic trance

Take branches of fire,

revolve by your senses

Lie forth on the path,

through journeys we'll fly

Apparitions of creatures;

familiarity reins

As air encircles our core,

feel our Mother's embrace.

I used to think poems had to rhyme but I have learned that is not the case at all. I don't think it matters as long as you bring out the story or meaning or what you are writing about and painting a picture, bringing out feelings of any kind, that is what I have learned poetry is and from what I have seen from you, you have no problems in any of those areas! :) As you have done here again, a picture (imagery) has been painted "phoenixs rises, archic trance..." and you have told a tale and even without rhyme you still have flow. so congrats once again. :)
