The Shadow in the Dark

The Shadow in the Dark

A Poem by Fading Poetic
"

Written 2012.

"

Twisted subversion,

an inverse extraversion,

your singularity shines

black among gold.

A grain of sand

falls, falls, turns,

and crawls, an inverse image

to my corneas.

As such I saw your world

through an hourglass, my

private window looking in,

The gravity of your conscious

subconscious ineffectively affecting

the unaffected.

And your eyes catch mine,

unknowingly, inescapable variable,

and you see and you don't,

my friend my friend, dear love

my friend, I am a shadow, the shadow,

a shadow you see not.

Anon, again,

My friend my friend, dear love,

my friend, I am naught but all, of all,

I am naught.

Finis, finis, I am done, I am faded,

A husk, a shell, no more, no more.
