DisappearA Poem by Jazzlyn B BardenThis is what it felt like When you disappeared. Leaving me all alone, To deal with my darkest fears. I see you everyday, But you’re not really there. Pictures aren’t the same As having you standing here. Walking the halls alone, As laughter fills my ears. Must be fun to have someone Who won’t go disappear. No texts or calls left on my phone, Just the sound of your voicemail. The same voice I’ve heard all these years, But it’s somehow different now. The only one who gave a damn Left without a trace. Now I’m left here by myself, Trying to remember your face. Since I am no longer noticed, And no one ever sees me, I wonder if it will even matter if… I disappeared along with you. © 2016 Jazzlyn B BardenReviews
