Four Letter Word

Love?

Ha,

Such a silly little thing.

It has you falling hard,

In the blink of the eye,

But what you don’t know is that…

Nevermind.

I’ll let you find out on your own,

It’s not my place to tell.

Unless you really want to know,

But I promise,

You won’t like what you hear.

Love darling,

It doesn’t exist,

It’s just something you hope to be real.

Love is just pretend,

Listen when I say,

Nothing lasts forever.

All the “I love you’s”

They’re lies,

I assure you.

And maybe later in life,

When you think about all the hugs and the kisses,

You’ll be reminiscing.

But darling,

Love does not exist,

It’s just a hollow emotion.

It’s a word we use,

To pretend that maybe,

Just maybe we won’t be  lonely in the end.

And really,

If love is such a strong emotion,

How come this world is full of hate and corruption?

But in all reality,

We shouldn’t speak of this.

After all, Love is a four letter word

this was so good. :( i used to love love but after i got cheated on by the guy i thought i couldn't live without, i realized just how ridiculous love is. now relationships seem to mean nothing to me, i don't trust anyone. there's still a sliver of hope deep down inside of me, but i can't find it right now.
