Car Crash

Car Crash

A Poem by Jazzlyn B Barden

Car Crash,

Whiplash.

Right before your eyes.

Driver,

Driver,

Why’d you drink and drive?

I’m taking you to court,

For you caused a man to die.

Car Crash,

Whiplash,

Right before your eyes.

Driver,

Driver,

Why’d you drink and drive?

Baby in the back seat,

You caused a child to die,

Car Crash,

Whiplash,

Right before your eyes

Driver,

Driver,

Why’d you drink in drive?

You killed a mother on her way to the hospital,

about to give birth to a child.

Car crash,

Whiplash,

Right before your eyes.

Driver,

Driver,

Why’d you drink your drive?

You killed your mother,

and your baby brother,

Leaving to give you a ride.

Maybe next time,

You’ll think about your alcohol intake,

Don’t drink and drive,’

Unless you want someone to die.

When I wrote this poem I was thinking about some major problems in America, and society in general, and realized drinking and driving is one of them, Drinking and driving is something that happens everyday, and everytime someone always ends up hurt, or almost hurt.

Drinking and driving. A dangerous person.
"Maybe next time,

Above lines is wisdom being taught. If you drink. Don't drive. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
