Sister's ShadowA Poem by Jazzlyn B BardenBroken child, run away. Your perfect sister, Will stay in place. You’ll be forgotten, Forever in her shadow Not good enough, For the praise of your mother. Perfect, perfect, Perfect sister Perfect grades, Perfect daughter. Stays the same No one will see, Any of your good deeds. For your sister is the princess, The one that they adore. Silly girl, What have you done? You tried to go, and be up front. You screwed things up, Don’t you know, You’re an invisible child, Hiding in your sister’s shadow. Nothing that you do, Will change the fact, You’re not good enough To be in the light. Perfect sister, Perfect grades, Proud mother of her perfect child. Little sister, Average grades, Disappointed mother, of her Broken and not so perfect child© 2016 Jazzlyn B BardenAuthor's Note
