Dinner

Dinner

A Poem by Crazy Claire

"Thank you
for the dinner,"
I say
a smile
plastered
to my face.
Though
in reality
I am about
ready
to stick a finger
down my throat
and throw it
all up.
I have to be perfect.

I like the bluntness and no bullshit way you write. No frills, no nonsense.

And take it from someone who's been in your shoes, i feel ya. One of the best pieces of advice someone once gave me was to never strive for perfection because perfection is boring. Many people tend to strive for it so everyone comes out the same. You just gotta say "f**k it, i'd rather be different not perfect." Being considered 'perfect' or 'skinny' is no great accomplishment. Strive to be called things like intelligent or compassionate or a great friend. Strive for creativity and wild imagination. These are truly great accomplishments.
