Her SacrificeA Poem by Crazy ClaireWe had to write an epic for school...I know this isn't the traditional epic form, but I don't care. My teacher liked it and that's all that matters for me.
With her pen and her paper, she saves lives;
She'll fend off those monsters while her heart dies. A grin on her face while she stabs them to death, You'll remain in awe as you learn your breath. The words that tumble off her lips are cruel, But she'll always save your a*s in that duel. Great evils swarm your heart, tormenting and killing, And she fights and fights, unaware her blood is spilling. Your selfish needs silence your warning, Still she fights on, with but an occasional scorning. Yet those monsters are strong! They shove her down, and she lays too long. Your defender is weak, but stronger than you. So up she goes, singing a great tune. These monsters are in shock, and they will shrink. But they are witty, and so they will think! Attacking from the rear, they yell and scream, Though her sobs are louder, fiercer and mean. She holds you behind her, giving her soul, Then the monsters grin, succeeding in their goal. They suck and suck, while you stand there and view. Your savior is dying, her blood turning blue. Her spirit is strong, though cracked and scratched, And she continues to fight, though she knows she is matched. She knows it is over, she will whither and die, And watching her fight still, you begin to cry. The monsters have finished, they will walk away, Their bellies full of both love and pain. Shakily you stand, examine her empty corpse, And slowly your eyes fill with remorse. This young girl saved you, and died in the process, You feel so bad... You realize you're jealous. © 2012 Crazy ClaireAuthor's Note
