Awake

Reality hurts. But at least it's real.

I was awoken
But found my heart broken
And I can't take much more.
So I'll fall to my knees
And take to the seas
Only to wash up on the shore.
I can no longer feel
Nor can I heal
I've grown numb to the core.
Just kiss me goodnight
And turn out the light
Then walk right out the door.
You often confuse me
And then you abuse me
What do you do this for?
On my skin I have scars
And on my mind I have bars
So that you won't hear my roar.
I gave you my heart,
For you to tear it apart
And keeping my smile is such a chore.
Now I'm all alone
Why, yes, I have grown
But I'm always so sore....
So kiss me goodnight,
Maybe leave on the light?
Then walk right out the door.
