God bless him, and bless you for being a soft place to land. I have read and watched multiple accounts on television, and magazines, and yet my grasp is so minimal to military families.
Regardless of his personal feelings about it, search for a qualified counselor.
your poem conveys a very loving tribute.
i like the end: he sounds like a true soldier!
Have you noticed ? Everybody thinks about the selfless
service of the reitired fighting man, but no one knows quite
what should be done about it.
At the end of WW-1 the soldiers who had promised a bonus had
to march on Washington to get the bonus, but they were eventually
honored for their service.
At the end of WW-2, service men had been promised a gratuity from their
home states, some states and many were paid a small sum.
Perhaps the grave of the "Unkown Soldier" holds some of that memory for us.
Maybe the Unown Soldier is every soldier, every service man who volunteered
and selflessly served to preserve the peace here where we are safe.
I hope that your soldier will receive the recognition he deserves and will not
remain unkown.
The poem written , to her husband, is not just a poem about a serviceman, it is
a very special poem, well written, correct in every detail and a work of art.
