Crooked Lights

Crooked Lights

A Poem by Einstein Noodle

Crooked Lights
fleeting, fickle
blinking time
brinks the distance and eclipse

of light

light from the ceiling of
open cord connections

jump  ..................................  jump
to grasp fireflies flung about by electricians and
marching transcendentalists

we all jump

light bends from crooked lamps
movies swagger across center stage
books and poems written .................................
an emphasis for glowering blazing gazes

in the gloaming       (sigh)

equally entranced
eager for surprise and delight

what bloody flow lends such power
to emotions         -          off put         -         in banality

I feel flatted      -        i am flatted
               yet
still    I     can    not    walk                                                 away

it's the lights, you see.
crooked as they may be
we light our ways upon them

how lighted can they be
written in darkness?

Your mind is a prism! ( Prison prism perhaps) bending words into sensical nons. Then in the end it does make sense. Like a fractal. The balance of disjointed phrases becomes clear illuminated by the whole of this poem. I love it! How lighted can they be written in darkness you ask? Perhaps the truth is clearly seen in the dark. Like the blind seeing with their hands unencumbered by the distractions of vision. What we feel is less fickle or fleeting than what we see. Happily flatted I am. And what an amazing wire sculpture!

I like the old man logic in the poetry my friend. We will know the light of so many things. The lights can be bright and the lights may die, fade away. I liked the set-up the poetry. A poem to make the reader fall into. Maybe find the lights or lose them? Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

Hello dear E,

I love the way you put it, crooked as they may be
we light our ways upon them....

This light, all pervading, at gloaming or sunrise, has the sheer power to move us, make us jump.

Whatever its source may be, fleeting or fickle it may be, light is light and so needed for everything always!

So happy to be on this page and reading you once again.
I hope you are very fine, my friend.

I love the way, as befits its title that this has become a visual poem and one of your best, to paraphrase a good friend "sez I".

Great write, as helpful and necessary as light is to us all, many studies have shown artificial light may be harmful. Disturbed sleep cycles, eye strain, light pollution etc. Yes it is a great metaphor as well (to see the light, be guided by the light) To have light there must be darkness. Oh by the way I loved Creedence

The creativeness of this piece, the utter abstract feeling that comes from reading work like this, the pleasure I get from trying to decipher these thoughts made reading this morn worth it. I haven't been here in many years but I do remember coming to your page or Frieda's page knowing I was going to be walking into a labyrinth of words that I may never find my way out of. Nice to know some things never change.

There is the physical light and the transcendental light, the outer light and the inner light. Light as science is still amazes. Light as a metaphor, is prevalent in all religions. God is described as The Light without source or needing one.
An excellent poem dear Einstein. Keep your light shining upon the hill.

My pleasure dear friend and poet. You write ✍ good stuff.

being a mere mortal, I am not ashamed to admit that I am, as yet, unable to thread the words I wish I could thread into a sufficiently cohesive and meaningful sentence, so as, to do justice to this truly beautiful and enlightening poem of yours brother E .. quite possibly one of my favourite poems to date, mate ..
