CLONED

surcingle jerked
to sinch the trappings tight

Ideas of cloud, sky and winds nicely contained
this riders method long in the tooth

the ol' dog drops his face
lags just a moment then

puts the spurs to tongues of hues and distinction
neural explosions now bland and
perfectly the same
funny how the bit is taken so easily

Do my eyes deceive me? Is this a new poem? It most certainly is! And starts with a two-BIT word. I love to learn. Couple days ago it was crepuscular. Today, surcingle. Strapped it to my mind and will have to take the word for a ride some day. I ride your words. I loved the line, 'puts the spurs to tongues of hues and distinction'. As Kramer would say ... Giddyup Gene!

At first I wondered if surcingle had anything to do with enclaamotoues or rifmagogls, but of course neither of them is assoczamated with Alice Cooper's clone!
Silly me.
Definitely a sagmitizated, clearmortizific bit of poetry.

I was discussing Dolly the sheep only last week, then heard her mentioned on the radio for the first time in years, and now saw this, your lovely poem. I do enjoy synchronicities.
'neural explosions now bland and
perfectly the same'
disconcerting to say the least.
Fully enjoyable read, EN!
All the best,
Laura.

Reminds me of the sad tale of Dolly the sheep, several years ago now. And having watched a rerun of the 'Head That Would Not Die' last week, makes for a very interesting reading. Thank you for sharing.

My cloned brain sees only shadows of reality but the wording of this poem took me on a ride. It is funny how easily the bit is taken. Well done

OK E,-"surcingle"?...What the....? You've taught this city girl a brand new word accompanied by visions of you on your horse lazing by, brain being newly inspired by the sights and sounds perceived. what a wonderfully-worded poem in your always unique style! Yes, get those synapses stirring my friend. Bursts of impulses and Alice Cooper too? Oh my- I love it all!

E.
I like how you put the
riding reins of this poem
to a western theme ..too
many sheeple easily biting
the bit; conforming to sameness
then there are those of us
who are rebels .".you can lead
a horse to water but you can't
make him drink it comes to mind"
Especially if he long in the tooth
and set in his ways ..another
great write from you Mr. E

enjoyed reading
