“Sadness came slowly like
the turning of leaves in Fall breezes
the colors
impregnable with the mind
only hearts

Exquisite E., and so moving. Flow, words ‘al punto’, Imagery, colors, pathos, simile - all perfect. I could not help but follow this spiritual journey from alpha to inevitable omega. All of the colred bursts of love are what define and elevate us. Kudos my supremely sensitive friend…

Oh my! how can someone write this unless they FELT IT? I feel a wound bleeds in my heart right now, this is how powerful and real your words are dear Gene! "only hearts" YES! only them... they are doors. where we can feel each other's joy, love and PAINS without a word, connect with each others. I opened it once for You and You left me with a big wound, with despair, with emptiness... do I dare to open it again? and I say YES open it again and again and again... someone out there deserves You as You deserves them. outstanding.

Humans in their nature are addicted to pain and suffering, never easy for us to understand this and work ourselves as You've said in this three dimension realm. You are so welcome my fine sensitive friend and always a pleasure to connected through poetry like this, now please do take of your beautiful heart❤️ HUGS***🤗
It is interesting isn't it, when we sit with sadness, that's what I got out of this ... to sit and watch our emotions the same way we watch the seasons change, the same way we go about our daily tasks like splitting logs, we sit with sadness, sometimes we forget the sadness, like the seasons, like each fire burning down to ashes, will move on ... but when each does new beauties await us, if we allow it.
Funny also ho we keep on searching for external love - when in fact - it is all within us.
This is a lovely poem - I like the way you have assembled it. I like the visuals.
Nice to read you - (I'm on holidays)

Ahhh the heart! It can feel beauty and pain so profoundly. It's the teeter totter of life! Old bones and memories need to stay in the past. It's Spring! Bring on the blossoms :-) Nicely written and illustrated. Glad I stopped by this morning.

Memories....so colorful and so restless. They seem to grow more vibrant and animated with the passage of time....I loved the opening verse, it brims with beauty and sadness. I felt the freshness of the asphalt and the new love and I also felt the coating of the dust of the years on them. Love lingers on in our spirit. You wrote this so beautifully, dear E.
