Sensuous

Sensuous

A Poem by Einstein Noodle

Sensuous
cod .............salted,
dried and packed in
wooded treasure boxes with
sliding wood lids
I kept things in there once.
Things like a pair of red dice,
my lucky rabbits foot ... the real one;
A couple baseball cards ... rubber bands, tacks
And     .......................             dreams of women.
Purring warm with the
fluidity of solids ..........with glow
conscious and alive in my hands
hands cupped and spooning
a table for two
sun baked linen
shaken to clothe flat quiet table
curves of warm cherry wood legs crevassed behind blue eyes
 minds ....and .... hands
                                      exploring
so many forks for one meal
(I don't know what they're all for)
red cream
smooth flow
radiates radish sauces
star veins pink when opened
over smooth and rippling dimples
fitted as one
a table for two .........................sensuous.

I went searching to find more of your great poetry to read and absorb. I think of it as a courtesy to one I respect so.. I stumbled on this one and, I am so glad I did! I love the sax! I am a fan of smooth jazz myself and this is an excellent selection for your poem. It has quite the sensual mood to it. I think every kid has some kind of box they kept their treasures in. Mine was a cigar box. Don't know where it came from. You have done a wonderful job in taking this through different moments in your thoughts and dreams. Moving from childhood to adulthood while doing it. Hands cupped and spooning a table for two..... I like that line. Minds and hands exploring....so many forks for one meal.... It's as if you fade in and out of being with a woman privately in an intimate setting and then dining in a nice restaurant with linen tablecloths and finery. I have enjoyed this read as I read it multiple times. Great work, Mr. E. Temp

I had a box like this...baseball cards, boy scout handbook, Eagle badge,
Rock collection...imaginings of Judy Fracaro whom I loved from afar in grade school but never had the courage to tell her.....and damn...we had a reunion and i was going to tell her then so we could have a good laugh over it...but she died of cancer before the reunion...she will never know that I kept thoughts of her in that box...
I wonder if she ever noticed me?
maybe I needed a rabbit's foot...might have brought me good luck with her.
You take me on such a nostalgia trip here...
I love saving old things...my dad's penny collection which he gave me...it means so much to have that of his...he collected those...he's gone, but that part of him remains with me.
I have really old photos in an old album my mom gave me.
Relatives i never knew...ones who died before I was born...my mom's mom, my dad's dad...
and the photo in my avatar of my mom and me when I was 10 days old.
keepsakes are priceless....the ones that can only be measured by the heart....
this poem is amazing...and damn...my mom did teach me which one was the shrimp fork, but when I was older than 10 days.

What a wonderfully expressive piece E, that surprises and conjures images of a box of dreams and hopes, memories and delights treasured.
Have an old box with old concert tickets and little mindings that evoke such wonderful memories, moreso for the fact that I lost most of everything in a fire a few years back, bur fate left it intact, which considering it's made of wood, only adds another memory to it, as well as a slight smoky smel.
There's even a wine label from a posh meal with too much cutlery too. Wish I pinched a spoon now 😀
A wonderful piece, that lets me wander your wanderings, while remembering our own.

You've created a rich, colourful and delicious feast, here, Mr. Noodle! You've not over-seasoned your phrases or accentuated the wooden boxes in a state of sensuous awareness, You inevitably write with fine phrasing.. and in this case, tastefully. ' a table for two - baked linen - shaken to clothe flat quiet table - curves of warm cherry wood legs - crevassed behind blue eyes - minds ....and ... '

and.. my kind of music!

great write. a smorgasbord of sentiment, a buffet of feelings and memories. you've certainly done the cooking and set the table. i take it that there was plenty of room in that box and at the table for those dreams of women. as i read i was reminded of the song by sinatra - luck be a lady tonight. this was a pleasantly different and i enjoyed it. the tiny fork is for the shrimp right? ... :)

What a wonderful treat. Keep the box handy and close, keep your date close in sensuality, keep the memories close to cherish at a moment's notice. Your poems delve into the precious things and memories and times gone into the psyche sir Einstein. .
