Changes

Changes

A Poem by Einstein Noodle

"Changes"
apophonic harps ringing in my ears
I hit the wall of my obsessions
My senses of expression
we just can't hold hummingbirds
(Can We?)
rivers run through  rocks
please don't sing for me     ~         a
plaintive keening
don't tell me  your art
(Show Me)
alterations to a tailor like a
calico kitten's soft      ~      rough
rouged tongue
don't write those things  for me
(i thought my prayers would get me closer)
Sailor mendicant, hearing the sirens' wailing
finger tips          ~           map tats
trace story lines of mermaids           and
the deep               where fish creatures glow effervescent
(i wish i had not run so fast)
may i read your palm?
reel with me
in you          -         swirls
Divine intervention
(there is the Tunnel)
peacocks fanned tail  extravagance
melding pot calamity
great love        the
living of the dead
(There is the Light)
On Winds and clouds
lithe bodies bound
flights in fancy fandango
i
    i
        i
            i .................

I always have a smile from reading your poetry E. Amazing depth once more and I wish the world could see such skill as yours, remarkable :) There is a process to this piece in my eyes...a layered building up to a completion of recognition, not just a wander through imagery but an actual process, very cleverly executed and articulated. Sometimes dreams and hopes are so fragile they tear along the jagged path on this journey called life but the living on and holding on to faith and acceptance make living a little easier sometimes...life is an art and your art glows brightly in bold metaphor, wonderful E :)

you know you appeal to the English teacher in me...Show don't tell....yes.

and hummingbirds fly backwards, like some people who just seem afraid to move forward in life...

and we just can't hold them...
the peacock and the I, I , I ....mmmm

reminds me of someone.

this write opens its feathers...
just checking out a few poems...glad I happened on this one.

Thought you could sneak past us Sir, did you? Posting a new piece, on a THURSDAY of all days! just to surprise us all and make us smile. God bless ya E! 😀
Now, before the reviewproper begins, I will admit having to look up apophonic, and I'm glad I did. Please look it up and see just how far down the explanation you need to go before you see a word you recognise... It took me three different dictionaries 😀
There is the overpowering thought of being a feather or leaf, floating through your thoughts/ words E, but with a prolonged arc, defying gravity on each swing as it peruses each line and feels the knowing comfort of a jigsaw being unveiled before our eyes.
After "hitting walls of obsessions" and " we can't hold gummingbirds (can we?)" lines, I stopped counting how mant times i thought "wish I thought of that."
Was that a modesty showing through as you ask not to waste art on you?
This is a journey I would totally book E, I can hear the sirens calling me and feel the breeze in my hair of your most awesome flight of fancy.
The uncapped i's ending leads me to thinking you have fallen into another level. Not so much ending, as possible beginning of volume 2 😀

You are most welcome. And yes, long may it continue.
Yes indeed, in these dark, uncertain times we find ourselves living through, adapt to the climate and look for positive aspects, better days are on the way so be ready for 'the changes' ..

A lively, upbeat and impactful write, lots of imagery going on here just as Mr Bowie himself would have ascribed too!
