I always have a smile from reading your poetry E. Amazing depth once more and I wish the world could see such skill as yours, remarkable :) There is a process to this piece in my eyes...a layered building up to a completion of recognition, not just a wander through imagery but an actual process, very cleverly executed and articulated. Sometimes dreams and hopes are so fragile they tear along the jagged path on this journey called life but the living on and holding on to faith and acceptance make living a little easier sometimes...life is an art and your art glows brightly in bold metaphor, wonderful E :)

Same dear E and I mean every word, you are an amazing writer, have a lovely day :)
Complex depths in this one from a poet at the height. I can see the growing in this Gene. The heights and layers in which you develop your art and then it encourages me to sift for fine meanings. Beautifully written dear friend. Something for me to chew over for many a long time. I will get back to you with some of my discoveries. This is a walk through feelings.

I will fandango through this poem more than once, that is for sure. A multi layered gem, this one is. Change is the one constant in our lives, but lately the changes are thrown at us far too quickly. The images you create with your words are spectacular, E. Show me, don't tell me....you have shown us once again you are a skilled poet! Lydi**
For my simplistic mind, I see a world where change is difficult, in a dark world, but I also see a tunnel and there is light at the end of it....( I’m sure this is completely off base!)

"changes" caught my eye.. it has been a year of changes for sure.. but there is also great hope in these words.. and is that not the true meaning of Christmas after all.. we should not try to capture the humming bird it will only die in our hands.. like the spirit.. we must let it fly free.. The words and images coincide beautifully and your poetry is exceptionally deep and impressive. You are an extremely talented writer and I'm elated we get to enjoy the words you've laid down for us to enjoy and comprehend. :-)

This is one of your poems that tickles my understanding, but mostly stays beyond my reach. I found myself coming up with an interpretation based on your title word . . . about how people are swimming around in an unknowable morass becuz lives have been so unalterably changed in recent months. It's one thing to crave change, but quite another to be thrown into a cauldron of changes that haven't been fully stewed so that we could make some sense of them. As an interesting exercise, I read ONLY your parenthetical lines & I get an interesting glimpse of this narrator's seeming frustration & somewhat demanding declarations for the world to stand still a minute so we can process all that's happened. But then again, I could be totally off-base in my reading & I know you would be so kind as to encourage me anyway! *wink! wink!* Fondly, Margie

This one is great. I feel regret hesitation, exasperation and uncertainty when I read it. But also hope. (Perfect by the way for living through a pandemic!). In the end, there is a light but I think it remains to be seen if this will save us or not. Do we wait to be saved or save ourselves?

dear E... "there is nothing so Constant as Change" ... is written
on Marble in the Rotunda inside of the U.S. Capitol in
Washington, D.C. Love your reference to the Calico kitten...
and also to the Peacocks. Tick tock... time is marching along
at a speed undeniable. Your poetry is a prediction that needs
reckoning. truly, Pat

Harp sounds, ringing in your ear. I heard them too across the waves. I just adore the plucking of those strings with long graceful fingers. Always takes me back to medieval times. And rivers running through rocks took me to the source of our Thames. Such imagery in your work Mr E. You certainly know how to show and not tell. Captivated by the movement through time. We are in a great state of change now. Moving slowly in my opinion, but in a forward direction. Certainly I feel I have seen that light at the end of my tunnel and I am forever keeping my eye on it. Slowly does it. No need to rush. Top of the morning to you, lovely fella.
Have come back to say I am a Bowie fan and I appreciated the music :)
