Sad that we live in a plastic throw away society..what a mess modern mankind has created..and the ocean strives still to caress us with beauty..a hard task for nature to struggle through such disregard and mess..your writing is always so well expressed a delight to read

a great piece about rewengy ( spelling was meant) and love gone well bad, the painting of the sad abused, misconstrued was awesome, a doomed, damaged plastic bag for life, literally they do not dissipate, dissolve , they will always be, hungry and waiting, excellent poem, E.

My mother is watching something
about how we don't have a high
amount of seeds as in veggies.
And she's apart of a seed saver
group in iowa and is going
to take classes learn to
save organic seeds.
It seems this might be why in
so many years there will be
no more coffee seeds.
I see the world falling
apart and we're trying
to eat healthier and
take care of ourselves.
But there's ones
that can't see this
I smell it and feel
it.
We still recycle
and take care of
the earth in Iowa.
I wish more would
see the damage they're
doing.
Thank You for sharing
an inspiring piece.

It is devastating to realise exactly what damage we have done to our oceans and planet through the use of plastic. It really is a joke that it is only now we are concerning ourselves with the fact it doesn't breakdown. It really bugs me that it is my generation that welcomed it in the first place without asking questions. A timely and tough write Mr E. And when I think on those beautiful ocean creatures filled with plastic it makes me want to weep. Loud and clear from your pen.

Is plastic not the scourge of the world now.
Even worse, we're all eating it in our diet now.
We really need to get back to paper bags and glass as quickly as possible.

I see these images all of the time in my mind every time i use it it makes me angry at myself and i so try not to!!!!! this poem and its heart resonates with mine so strongly ...The double meanings in these lines are delicious, This is by far one of my favorites of yours now. The word plastic is synonymous with cheap, shoddy, imitation, lackluster and fake yet we use it for everything cause its derived from oil and oil is god today even when we replace it with other things god still reigns over us and rains acid toxic waste upon us and we still bow to plastic we eat it drink it and kill the world and ourselves with it yet we still bow poly wrap me now....

I am so glad it was you that penned this beaut Gene, tho am not surprised.. as a species we have been abusing the planet for such a long time... admittedly I suppose when we first started out on this route, we were oblivious to many of the facts we now know about and in particular, the accumulative effects and toxicity that our waste, residue and trash is having upon our oceans, the air we breathe, wildlife in general and of all descriptions and of course, ourselves and our children.. It is high time that big corporations and individuals too all play our part in becoming more pro-active in doing something positive to reverse a trend that will otherwise be the end of us..... Thank you for getting the message out here and let's hope we have time and the collective mindset to do summat constructive each day of our lives...... Neville :)

this is such a cutting poem...she is abused, but in a different way....more of a mental thing, she just wants to be loved, seen and appreciate for what she is...not have her love end up like bad coffee with the grounds still in the cup...she writes a poem for breakfast, for his breakfast...
he will choke on what he eats...
she will smile...

"It's a Thin line Between love and Hate" was a huge hit song by the "Persuaders"/ in 1971.
"The sweetest woman in the world could be the meanest woman in the world, if you make her that way"/.

I so like the way you have given 'life' to the oceans as the wicked advertising genius who supplies our soap powder and all else in this evil product we all have taken to our hearts until recently. A serious subject as the ecology of our seas is threatened and our food poisoned.
