The Rose ... a collaboration with Lingering Soul

The Rose ... a collaboration with Lingering Soul

A Poem by Einstein Noodle

She woke delightfully from her dream
Unfurled her curves and gown without a seam

She knew times beyond her dawn
In lustrous color and wilder form

At bay side waters she sat alone
Whistling tunes of meadows many tones

Splashes of blue ...splashes of red
from shore to shore she lifts her head

Maybe a lonely night was through
A day has made a difference too

As romance stood shading her
Lovers leap and passions stir

A gleaming fragrant morning glow
Sheds petals of pure rain in wind and snow

Having pushed through tired rock and soil
Imbuing thoughts of linens' lemon coyle

"Top definition ... Coyle's are placed throughout the world to spread joy and happiness and to bring wit and pleasure ... AH, she was a lovely coyle, so charming!!"

love the allegory here...just a rose, or not?
a song from a beautiful flower, heartwrenching...janis, such a beloved blues/rock singer, but in her own world...struggling with loneliness...so unsure of life and why she is in it...
this is really powerful my friend...
you and Lingering Soul sound as one here...you are both such strong individual voices, but combined...?

Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The opening couplet is sublime in the vision it portrays of a sleepy woman stretching from her bed. The rest has a sadness pinned to its heart yet there is hope in the coyle yet.

Honestly, one of the stronger collabs I have seen on here over the years. It is well balanced, with a lovely cadence to it. Not in much of a critique mood, but just wanted to say that I did enjoy this.

...Awe-inspiring... Tempo and breathe is just otherworldly...

Not only did I see and feel this one... I think my chair is a bit misty... Is that salt in the air...? I swear I heard a faint whistle somewhere... My god this poem takes you places... Or it brings the places TO you... Either/or... Silly-good effort on both parts...

Aye, very much welcome... Beautiful song did not hurt either... It helped my bus of imagining
Roses shedding petals of pure rain... you give us a respite to rest upon
in meadows hue of flowers wild. When life holds dreams at bay and
melodies will calm our stay. A lovely collaboration from the dawn of time
and beyond. truly, Pat

Such a lyrical collaboration! The couplets are seamless...impossible to tell who wrote what. You tell a tale here of loneliness and heartbreak, but also of hope for a better day. I have always liked the song by Bette Midler. A wonderful job, you two. Lydi**

Love flies on the wings of the imaginations and touches the divine essence of life. The bond of love and beauty hold firm in our minds and hearts. Free from all constraints, it releases goodness and lovely cheers to all who receive and drink from its endless spring. I can linger in your collaboration and drink from the well of creativity. Thank you both.

All rich blessings. You are welcome. Both too...
I love reading this poem becuz of how well it flows, with great rhythm & rhyme. I forgot the title as I read & I missed any "rose" observations . . . then going back to check it out, I saw how this aspect of your extended metaphor tied in. All in all, your message feels like a kaleidoscope of observations, as if one is just awakening, or just opening up to some discovery/realization, just feeling the sensations more than thinking about what's on the horizon, the way startling imagery explodes in the mind's eye, blotting out any analytical synapses about what it is. You lead us to dwell in the sensory experience & suspend the need to interpret (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I liked the romantic images and the sense of the struggle that had gone before - 'pushing through tired rock and soil'. The dawn, the waters, the lonely night, the petals, the linen... all created a wonderful mix of sensations that spoke to me of hope, passion and delight.
