I read "Don’t Worry About Me" by Annette Pisano-Higley https://www.writerscafe.org/writing/ahigley/2093025/ it inspired me to write on the same subject ... not necessarily the same vein ;)
forgive me if i got swept way in your musings..... (Annette could inspire a brick into a broach by the way) this is has a fine meditational tone of death in the depths of your deep lacquered finish but also a nice sense of a rebirth in its catching clutch. much tween the lines in here good sir

Cleansing of a kind; first the funeral procession on a drab, grey day and then the street sweeper to clean away all that has been left ready for new beginnings ... a clean sweep and the sun shines after dark skies.

perhaps you need your Norma to keep you grounded :)
Good morning Mr E. At the mention of a black lacquered coffin and purple sunset, my immediate thoughts were all about death. But then with a clean sweep came the possibility of rebirth and that lightened my spirit. Hope all is OK in your world. All good wishes.

For me tis like the darkest, longest night absorbing all the hurt and pain suffered in life, carrying each black moment into a far brighter, more beautiful place. Read this over and over, first time felt so low, then, slowly.. there's more.. and more Light.

You're a juggler of simple thoughts into great metaphor, sir!! As to Annette's gentle inspiration: that Lady could make custard out of sand!
Interesting tale of death and rebirth held within this tight-knit piece of intrigue, coffin dark horizons and dandelion float down after rebirth. Clean sweep. And renew. Start again.

I could say the sweeper is the last ''refuge'' of mankind.
In a way, we're all one step from the gutter. Liked, Annettes too.

The street sweeper is an intriguing metaphor for the desolation of loneliness

This gave me the image of a hearse and someone on their death bed as someone close sits in silence in a big city where humanity disappears and hears the sweeper break the silence. Definitely a thinker here 'E'.

sweeping is such sweet sorrow.. and these words cry out to me of loneliness and despair, a clean sweep, on a daily loop maybe... a groundhog day for sure.... and penned the noodle way, superbly...
