Street Sweeper

Street Sweeper

A Poem by Einstein Noodle
"

I read "Don’t Worry About Me" by Annette Pisano-Higley https://www.writerscafe.org/writing/ahigley/2093025/ it inspired me to write on the same subject ... not necessarily the same vein ;)

"
Street Sweeper

Cadillac  black lacquered deep

cocooned coffin sleep

Extended cab repleat
Western horizon sky creeping purple and

Grey on the velvety bed

Arial acrobatic eyes scanning

Dandelion puff

                       float down.
Witching hours cleaning time.

Dirge City. The

sweeping .......... the
sweeping streets
leaving worn steely bristles at the gutter

                       sweeping you
sweeping me               -            sweeping.

forgive me if i got swept way in your musings..... (Annette could inspire a brick into a broach by the way) this is has a fine meditational tone of death in the depths of your deep lacquered finish but also a nice sense of a rebirth in its catching clutch. much tween the lines in here good sir

What a beautiful, poignant write that took me into those quiet morning streets, empty except for the sweepers whispering over the world. There is a cleansing here, all we are, all we see, being washed and made new. Wondrous.

I see images of a Hearst and funny enough I see The Doors Riders on the storm video clip. Not the best of jobs but like them we do sweep our problems away or in a pile to deal with later. Nice writing Sir.

Oh I got your drift Gene indeed he who holds the broom sweeps! My pleasure to read Gene.
at the end of the day, he appears to sweep dirt, echoed voices & expired feelings.. and we, carelessly begin a brand new day thinking that yesterday had gone by itself.

Now this is a use of words. A playing with words. Beauty about the mundane. It begs the question in this way how can anything be seen as mundane. This is not just about street sweepers. Nor is it merely a musing.

wonderful imagination, very nice flow... and the touch of the sad tune is there, yet I feel the cleaning of everything, from the air until the street, and the feelings of the Street Sweeper while he sees, witness and make that happens are felt, he is like the hero behind the scenes. Thank You my brilliant friend, Thank You dear Annette, sure I will read her piece so soon.

Too often we overlook those who make our lives what they are....the street sweeper, the sanitation worker, the office cleaner. Without them, where would we be? This one is a philosophical gem...and actually I feel as though you were mesmerized by the street sweeper and used it as a metaphor for life. You are a clever one. Lydi**

Good Morning to you as well, my friend. Have a great day.
Your poems always educes masters of impressionism, E. your words depict delicate images with a powerful implications... And you leave your readers to their own perception. That is an unequalled talent.

Your poems bring the best out of your readers, E. it is always a pleasure reading your thoughts.
"Witching hours cleaning time", "sweeping you sweeping me" and many other lines have a very macabre feel to them, as if you're just hiding the sinister undertones amongst the thoughts of cleaning up. A fine poem as always, E. I greatly missed your distictive writing style on my sabbatical from the site! With love! ❤

Sometimes the dirt comes alive at night and in the morning gets cleaned up as if it was never there.
Like drunk/drugged up men pouring out of an alley at an ungodly hour and littering the streets with their cigarettes, empty bottle and their presence. Come morning they find a place to hide and the city cleans up their mess. Just my thoughts
