I loved geometry becuz defining space and objects is tangible, but algebra felt so damn meaningless with x's and y's & no concrete answers! I love your creativity in picking such a relatable idea to write a poem about! I love the way your mathematical terms could apply to many possibilities thru-out life, far from the buttons of any calculator! *smile* Hope your holiday season is sizzling with joy & good eats! I also hope this is a sign you're posting new writing more lately . . . my attendance has been sketchy, but I haven't seen you posting too much for a bit & we miss you! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
i was awful at geometry, one of my worse subjects, and now that i think about it...at love i was probably just as bad...all the wrong angles and cosigns...maybe love would work out better if the math did.

in geometry class my hands would begin to sweat....but not like Algebra class where I would mysteriously get physical sick. So sick in fact they had to carry my a*s out on a gurney. So, fast forward (in poetry time of course) past that horrible adolescence, past that fear and loathing, past that chronic sickness to a poem that encompasses the inner frailties of the soul. "Every man is guilty of all the good he did not do", Voltaire said.... Perhaps we're all part geometry... great poem/ dana
How cute this one is....and I think any high school student would agree with the last line. Geometry IS very hard to learn and unless one is planning on becoming an engineer, most of it is never used in real life. As an accountant, I used plenty of math, but I never needed to calculate the difference between a scalene triangle and an equilateral triangle! May x plus y always be in balance for you, my friend. I enjoyed this. Lydi**

I told my children, everything is math. Math is the working of the body and the movement of the mind. I liked this poem. Difficult geometry, need effort and time to understand and solve. Math is poetry. Thank you Einstein for sharing the outstanding poetry.

Having somewhat of an ocd numbers kinda brain I can relate to all your angles. I understand the dilemma of the plural of axis - what to do as it is either awkward or up for misinterpretation. But I think I'd do it anyway... either or, nice points.:)

Am still learning the beauty of numbers, how they control the way we think and feel, how certain figures appear as if by magic in our lives. However, that doesnt mean i understand how a subject such as math has any relevance in my dreams" Only during the day when i need to square up to someone or something, or eat less or minus at a loaded buffet. etc. fo i feel an infinity. Whereas you , sir, have played games with colours at conflicting ends of a spectrum and made magic! Nobody should have your quirky outlook.. love it!

Great poem Einstein about a topic most days at school would have us scratching our heads for the answers. Nicely done with great creativity added to the chosen topic at hand.

This one made me smile. Growing up, I thought the same about poetry and math/geometry, too hard for my little mind lol and although math really isn't what I get even now, my thoughts about poetry have changed quite much. Although there are some poems which still fly over my head (thankfully not this one ;P)
Very powerful and I love your last two lines :)
