I loved geometry becuz defining space and objects is tangible, but algebra felt so damn meaningless with x's and y's & no concrete answers! I love your creativity in picking such a relatable idea to write a poem about! I love the way your mathematical terms could apply to many possibilities thru-out life, far from the buttons of any calculator! *smile* Hope your holiday season is sizzling with joy & good eats! I also hope this is a sign you're posting new writing more lately . . . my attendance has been sketchy, but I haven't seen you posting too much for a bit & we miss you! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
Interesting. Now you know I bring a lot of my own baggage to such a poem with my background in mathematics and physics. So when you sum this up with "and very hard to learn", this makes me wince a bit. But still when these ideas are applied to life and its goings-on, then, yeah, I get it, because in life there are often no understandable reasons for thing, although the happenings are cut-and-dry with very sharply drawn lines. So, yeah, I understand.
Best regards,
Rick

Only E=Mc(where's the squsred button) can even think about equalling the elegance of this fine piece. I don't know if I should be more impressed that you explained poetry perfectly, or that I now understandment geometry.
Now I am left wondering if you should take a crack at the big ones... The meaning of life, or love's infernal atrraction 😀
I love just picking a page of your work at random E. It always blows my mind, without fail.

I blame netflix to be honest. "Just one more episode, then I'll write something...Well, I may as well finish the season now!... What! It's Thursday already?" 😀
I understand it, but cannot explain it in words as you have. Job well done, being one who is awful at all things mathematically complex I agree it is a very difficult subject to learn as are some forms of writing.

On another note, how do you write like that, put geometry inside of a poem and it ends up being so nice like this. Were you a mathematics lecturer? Well done

"My Poem is Geometry" is a logical and creative method of representing your unique voice. A profiler or critic would surmise that you are an artist; a visual artist that is able to use a ruler to make measurements with shapes. The human anatomy is simplistic. Leonardo da Vinci was aware of this as well. Vincent Van Gogh used simplistic geometry to illustrate his abstract emotions. In contrast, Vinci used it to share realism. Art forms are categorized in three: 1. Realism 2. Impressionism 3. Abstract. We need these perspectives in order to be wholesome. Art spectrums range from the classical Roy G Biv color scheme. You manage to organize them very coherently with Writing, Lyric, and Art. Well done, old friend.
"My poem is geometry...It is very hard to learn."
Yes. Yes it is because some are not familiar with mathematics. Human brains tend to be either Left or Right dominated. I am a dominant Right Brained. However, I was able to train the Left side because I am a cynical logical individual. I started out Left Brained as a child. I am a back wards woman of development. :P

I actually hated math until I started sketching consistently at age 23. I am now 27 and will be 28 on July 31. It was not until trauma hit that I gained the Gift of Mathematics. My birth Father was a mathematics professor. My birth Mother was a low functioning creative Autistic. So I gained the Gift from both gene pools. ;) I have always been interested in all Subjects. Math I had a hard time finding meaning in it.
Then I discovered Geometry. Then it is escalated from Biology to Geometry and to Logic. After that, I learned the Basics all over again from working at a Cash Register.
I turned into what I hated as a child; a Business woman. hehe I now manage my Band Scissor Kats and Scissorkatrecords my Art page. I learned that the Right and Left sides of the brain make pretty bebes. ;)
haha Yes. I figured I owed many my return Critiques before I share my new work. It is a hard bullet to swallow my new work because much of it is hard core Realism.

ha yeah, I find that when I deep dive into an emotion the poetry of it all comes all to naturally - this is a fabulous trick I have learnt for writing the beginning of all my crappy poetry. If I even think of the work geometry my brain starts to cloud over. Jordan thinks I am hilarious as he is currently studying commerce / economics so his brain loves the deep dove in to maths - argh!!
I prefer to chase down the thought and suck 'em dry until I have what I need to learn.
Love Quirky You !!
