My snow
December's moon
Beleaguering too soon
the hearth that holds a fiery heat
now cold

I never think of these style of poetry as dressed down. They are power insured.
Each word creates images while each coupling set the mood. I love what you have made.
Now, if only you could find a neighbor with a match. :)

It is absolutely beautiful, E.
Beautiful work; the juxtaposition of warmth and winters' chill are stunning- in five lines?- amazing. You make me want to try my hand at Cinquain!

I've never heard of this, but yours seems nice; think I'll have a go:

A cat
with eyes half closed
Dreaming of a river
Teeming with tuna fish
He is waiting for dinnertime
With purrs.

just few flowing words yet they hold such wistful tune, such yearning and emptiness, well done Mr. E, a poem flowing with Your own very ink, and all the nest for You in Your on-line class, I wish You all the fun.
