Once Again

Once Again

A Poem by Einstein Noodle

Once Again

Hello!
That's when the troubles came.
We were both sweeping
in seperate lanes and so
lost our footings

Good morning!
That's when the bristles came
We were on the wrong tracks and so
accidents of distress pronounced us
dead and alive

Good bye!
That is something that hangs like
a billboard blocking the sunrise
shocking the nature of things
smells like singed hair on lightning rods
sizzling the sight and the sounds of doves

Ohhhhh-Mega-Ouchies! Poor little pup has gotten himself too close too danger, as we do so many times in our lives. Wrong time, wrong place, just wrong..and then gone...great verse form with leading lines, flow, cleverness of language, metaphor, alliteration, imagery. Billboards blocking painful memories. Great poem E. P.S. Hope pup is rid of the barbs and feeling much better!!

a stinging write. there is much contained in your words. Thoreau said that, "An early-morning walk is a blessing for the whole day." A lot can happen in the quiet of those wee hours. all good and blessed things can be double-edged swords. which is why can never let our guard down and must ever stay on the right side. if i can only remember which is the right side. great eye-opening stuff oh wise sage ... :)

Somehow “Good Mornings’ never please or energise me much as I am one comfort loving kitty and love to sleep in, my toes tucked into a tender duvet on most days and now I come across this delightful poem that totally justifies my views. So ‘Good Mornings’ only seem right when everything looks really bright! Sorry about the lovely puppy but I’m glad he’s over it. That’s life on some days. Give him a pat for me! 😸

Multiple meanings, multiple interpretations which transpires from the hyperliteral to the metaphorical seamlessly without trying too hard. Fetching and relatable, your poem in my perspective talks about the myriad dynamics which are set into motion with changes in time and the different stages of interpersonal relationship. Beautifully crafted.

P.S. I hope the quills have come off that tender pup.

It is wonderful the way one can identify one's own problems when we happen to someone or thing in a certain situation. That poor doggie, but I can tell exactly how you felt, by looking at this photo.
Well done, and clever you!

In Aus we have a thing called Farmers friend - which ain't no friend to dog fur at all. Dodger has mastered the fine art of finding them, they take forever to get out.

This is a fun write that I immediately get a kinda warmth to. The long walks with just me and my pal did it for me. Your words express the closeness of relationship we naturally have with our beloved mutts. Really it just a=makes me feel warm and squishy and now I need to find that mutt and his him X

Wow... I love this.. The poem has a cheery flow to it which hides the melancholic message behind it.... It has a great flow and an excellent message.

Can't decide whether persistence or prudence ought rule the day.

We know we should learn from our mistakes, avoid the pitfall next time round, but there is a certain something built into our genetic makeup that often makes us continue to bash our heads against that brick wall.

Great poetry, great message.
