Welcome To The Party by Einstein Noodle and Mattavelli
"Avenues from far and wide swept minds of every station; with tongue and pen put past aside birthing our New Nation. A Bride she is blushing and flushed her dowry, countless lives; her suitors' sabers came and rushed to keep and own this prize.
Those men who framed this land were thoughtful in their task; so now, what monarchs might demand, we people need but ask. And all those many voices, their mingled story spun, give rise to many choices as many stand as one.
Her bones and teeth with jagged edge she falters through the years. To speak, defend, under the Pledge nearing beyond worste fears. the ebb and flow of malice, a sylph, relentlessly rending to tears .... corrupt the youth, drag down in filth hold leaders up to scornful jeers
It seems we're so divided by tugs from right and left, that all that gets decided leaves half of us bereft. And so the nation festers, the loudest voices, lies, that draw hearts to those jesters who dance as justice dies.
You have perfectly reflected the current political climate in not just America, but it seems to be a worldwide phenomena. It seems no one is concerned with even so much as appearances anymore. Leaders are cut throat, indeed. Sad reality and it seems we are slipping back into monarchy mentality as all fight for the prize, at the cost of how many? Excellent poem, hating the truth of this one. Cheers!

This is a mind-blowing political commentary from two of my very favorite writers on this website! That's what I call a morning miracle! What I most love is the way you do not "take sides" but illuminate the harm in taking sides as staunchly as it's being done, more & more, these days. Nicely avoiding clichés that choke the airwaves & just pleading for compromise & mutual understanding, that's nowhere to be found sometimes (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

We are going through a difficult time in the USA, no doubt about it. Politics....not a pleasant subject the world over. E, the rhythm and rhyme of this poem makes the words flow so easily....not like our system does this days. Wonderful work. Lydi**

Paraphrasing Paul Ryan - the republicans are an opposition party. They aren't organized to govern.
Our leaders want us to be separated. We cannot allow this.
"It seems we're so divided
by tugs from right and left,
that all that gets decided
leaves half of us bereft.
And so the nation festers,
the loudest voices, lies,
that draw hearts to those jesters
who dance as justice dies."
The above lines is happening. I live in a place of many cultures. We get along in Detroit. Not perfect but we are trying. Your words needed and powerful my friend.

Detroit was a hard hit city ..i hope that with the economy changing you may see some manufacturing there once again ... i agree ...parties especially the Left push divisions over and over ... a pity it has been successful for so many years :( my Da was a staunch Irish, Catholic, Democrat (in that order) and the last 10 yrs of his life (he died in '89) he spent as an Independent for being so sickened by such crap ... our leaders get together to parlay ...and with the issues on the table in front of them...they say ..oh! look at that shiny thing up there in the corner ... so everyone looks at it and squabbles ... then our arrogant major news stations blare the shiny thing out as God's own truth ... what a disease ... sorry .. didn't mean to go off on my soap box ..really appreciate all your visits and grateful for this one

An insightful and thought-provoking poem, E. Regrettably, most people don't know some of the best known founding fathers (Washington, Jefferson, Madison) actually spoke out against political parties (they called "factions").
As I read your poem I thought specifically about The Federalist Papers. "To secure the public good and private rights against the danger of . . . faction, and at the same time to preserve the spirit and the form of popular government, is then the great object to which our inquiries are directed" (The Federalist No. 10). It's clear that even in 1787 our nation's leaders knew parties/factions were problematic. Of course, like all politicians, they were unapologetic hypocrites, realizing their sources of power (and money) stemmed from such awful creations.
Your poem does speak to what many question today. Are we more divided than any other time in history, or is it just our limited existence and view of history? After all, we've not experienced a revolutionary or civil war in more than 150 years. Still, it's a legitimate question. Thanks for another quality work.

This is a great collab.
You would expect some countries to be above others.
But the world seems to have hit the gutter now.
The moral code has been lost.
Where do we go from here. I don't know.

Yeah, freedom seems to have been replaced with greed now.

I think the moral of this poem reflects the political climate of all countries. There are very few , if any that are not governed by the wealth and nepotism of so called leaders. who are seemingly blind to the plight of those that actually generate their wealth.
A well composed collaboration, Einstein (and Mattavelli) that avoids the usual political rhetoric.
