Transient Things
Brown, leather lazy boy .........
comfort.
Worn to fit and
knitted, yellow afghan hanging
black roosters in squares crowing ........
Wild horse winds with
death ...riding the flying dust
Sweeping clean.
It takes.
I pull the straining rope all day
My hands calloused companions as
time whittles the soft fragrant pine.
My long fingers of decision
Chips .........
falling away.
Red, yellow, umber burnt
caress the damp and sky
Mother's clear blue twinkles' gleam
She had no need for words
she spoke language.
These transient things
They are so real.

and yet there is a space between the transiency of our human observations and the transmigration of our souls to other more adaptable paradises. That's why poets use, as a meridian of sacrifice, all the axes of memory to allow the crossing of un-related events to become power: a mothers wisdom, the fragrance of hemlocks, wild horses.

Great poems never asks use why we've been transformed only to believe that such a transformation indeed has happened......dana

An amazing poem shared my friend.
"Red, yellow, umber burnt

She had no need for words
she spoke language.
These transient things
They are so real."
I loved the kindness of the above lines. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

You are welcome my dear friend. I loved this poem.
This poem made me feel comfortable. Which seems an odd reaction after reading one. Everything was familiar in that comfort. Comfortable things do tend to be transient things. Language without words....I work with non verbal people a lot. So much to say without words.

Missed this new year 2008 piece but thanks to that old boy gram, here I is! Loved the video with its atmospherics. This piece is writ like a fragmented mind, it sounds like a patchwork quilt looks as passing reminiscences flow in chunks down the river of memories. We are but temporary here and everything changes but stays the same until we search for the comforts of yesterday and find them gone. Great thinking write here 'E'.

times are surely changing and sometimes we are running out of time because there are the must do lists that we have to accomplish and with such hectic schedules we forgot the very important thing why we are living and why it seems that after all what you have gone through and survive through it seems that life had passed you by. it is for this reason that this poem touched me to the core. nice writing my friend
