Could it be that 'the superiors' choreograph, edit and drip-feed us, little snippets of what 'they' not us, wish to hear? One for the conspiracy theorists to peruse, and are we really all mere pawns in their game of chess?
A very profound, thought provoking and subjective poem, sublime metaphor thought out, bravo E.

I think you capture the essence of politicians and news reporters working in unison these days as they spill out sound bite, exaggerated, distorted and sanitised, skewed news for our consumption. I too like this as is 'E'

we are so much more like animals than we think...love the allusion to the cows...my favorite animals, at the time and since my childhood days in Vermont...
perfect, E...don't change a thing...the best poems just come out as they are. that is how Frank O'Hara wrote...and it worked for him...it just works in general.

Really been wanting to get some gruesome, gory insect/animal references in my writing lately... This scratches that itch, and then some... Better than I have been able to do, that is for sure... My mind does NOT do creepy crawly, haha... Filthily penned...

First of all and apropos of nothing; e have Red squirrels here. Including my garden character who is called Cyril with a blond tail.
Now, the media, in these days of instant news is out to get it out there first. No matter whether it is accurate or not. It is interesting to look at the news from various countries and compare. What is important nowadays. 280 people killed in Somalia yesterday seems not to be.
From the squirrel to the baby, superb use of metaphor here. An excellent piece.

Interesting how the press people have been visualized as squirrels, stowing and stashing away tidbits and half-truths, sensationalizing, proselytizing their way through every mess every disaster. The portrayal is perfect. They are no good, mischievous squirrels.

Wow a conundrum of sorts Einstein where on one hand it didn't matter if you were black or white, s**t happens and the world must deal with it! And then there were those not giving a toss sitting in their high chairs.
