Grey and brown and black

Gathering and hiding away

truth

half masticated leaves and tomatoes

spewing from ruminating cows 

kicking over flat warm rocks 

speculations explode like iridescent 

Bouncing Betty or

dung beetles

news of such things a wound running

blood and detritus

mouths unable to sustain honesty

 dribble

                    drip

                         dribble

down protocol bibs

spoiled children in high chairs.

Mr. E, I came across this poem and realized that you could have written it today! Our politicians are like spoiled children, constantly lying to us to suite THEIR needs. fearing the loss income... how did our economy get out of hand? The abuse of power by Corporations and Wall Street and many more who really control the Economy... and the rest of powerful people we elect and trust... most of them run scared. The common people may survive and the Immigrants without papers may survive. Only Poet sites tell the truth and a few very Brave people with TV and Radio Shows. Amen Pat

wow! and thank you Light .. so very much for reading with sensitivity and attention to details ;) so appreciative that you point out the sadnesses ...the world has certainly "moved on" ... i suppose each generation feels tht thier generation is the best ..but i know that mine really was ;) parents staying together ...teaching morals and work ethics...survivng very difficult times in the dust storms, depression and wars ..only to recover and bring about the greatest expansion economically ever ... steel workers, coal miners, the stock trade ... roaring twenties ;) and they passed it on to us ..but things hve really changed and much of those attributes are not held up with pride anymore ... almost the opposite .. sorry... just realized i am babbling ;} yes! our power brokers seem feckless don't they?! ..thanks Light ..thanks very much for stopping by and letting me know your thoughts on my poetry :)))

You are not babbling, I hear You and I couldn't agree more, I was born in the late 80th, we were raised into these morals, we learn how to work to gain, not to expect everything to be ready just like this generation, unfortunately this generation seem to care about appearance and materials, of course we are not saying that they are all the same or that they shouldn't live their own time, but I'm sure You understand me what I mean well enough, let us hope for a better next generation :)

hey you - you know I was in the midst of a very intense spin class today and a thought came to mind 'there are so many pushers and peddler's these days it is important to know and understand our OWN truths'

The world shall not become less chaotic unless there is a big shift in the actual way we think. Unfortunately we are conditioned to blindly believe - and we do, for lac of time of our own investigations.

Your poem represents this for me - we all need to take time for our own silence - for within it we shall find the answers.
