Grammy

A Poem by Einstein Noodle
"

I have been having a bit of fun with Hollywoods awards .. this is the last ..and with much respect for Grannies ... the intent is on the Grammy Award

"
Grammy
sacerdotal women
slow rocking chairs
whistling reams of feels
twirl a fluttered heart
her black Puritanical bonnet
cupped to magnify sounds
to her ears
to her ears, she's so hard to hear
knitting and sitting and
rocking and whistling
everyone's Grammy so sweet
(memories forestall)
feigning this way then that
she rocks then rolls then
whistles some mo'
as year after year
her decision unfolds.

dear E... guess I am a North by Northwest gal.., The older classics... stars get older and pass away... but not in our memory. The public is the best judge, but like our politics... does not always work. It is exciting to watch the Grammy's ... getting our insight into their charm and vulnerability. Love your attitude and writing. truly, Pat

Granny's rock. That's why kids gravitate to them.
Though i never met mine. Strangely enough now. Some granny's look better than some young mothers out there.

How your words made me smile, then ponder the joy of these precious women who keep the world alive in the rocking and singing and loving. Been so long since my precious grandmothers passed away, but I can still hear them and see them so alive in joy when we went to visit. Thank you for this sweet, sighing ode of life.

I do so miss my grandmothers. Yes, they are truly a blessing. Even in memories. :)
I've got to say my Gran was not sweet or lovable but she was the best. She was a matriarch and everybody in the extended family asked how high when she said jump. She was a pub landlady by the way and that probably explains a lot.
But I understand that Grans like the one beautifully described above do exist and we should be thankful for them when they are here. They are not as you so eloquently say here for ever. Even when they are here. That fact is the saddest one of all.
