Oscar

Oscar

A Poem by Einstein Noodle
"

i have been having fun names; they are: Albert, Jenny, Antoinette, and now Oscar. No offence is intended for any "person" ... and they are not names of anyone i know. ;) ...just saying! :)

"
Oscar
perhaps the "Grouch" at
first thought
but no ...  i think not
gold teeth make him fierce
desirable and too ....
sought after
to be the grouch
imaging would be concrete
were it not for soft shimmering
malleable shell
Bomb Shells .......... undress
confess such adoration
Men stutter their manhood
stolen long ago
Oscar ... no slouch, nor grouch
but mean just the same.

It's sad that things such as the Oscar have been relegated to the dustbin. There was a time when they actually meant something; but like the Nobel Peace Prize, politics often come into play which have absolutely nothing to do with the original intent of the award. My preferences are not geared by awards nor the critics. In fact, I tend to prefer the things they don't.

Like most have reviewed, the line about men stuttering their manhood is a stand out.

Well, despite the bombastic extravagance of the affair, most of us enjoy a vicarious thrill of seeing how the upper crust lives! *wink! wink!* I don't even have to watch the films to enjoy the Oscars! I am impressed by your subtle "Oscar" observations . . . you always see things nobody else does! (((HUGS)))

He was gonna be forever Carlos but after his first year, debut, they dropped the " L " plates, rearranged what remained and lo and behold Oscar was born.
Now that was utter bullshit unlike your piece.

Satirical and so cleverly written- the red-carpet charade...Great word-play- "Oscar the Grouch" vs. Oscar with Gold teeth- yes he has a grill! Ha! " Men stutter their manhood"- shattering line. Excellent!

Complex and writ in such terms. I have to be impressed. Worry not I'm not going to give an acceptance speech here. I really enjoyed this.
