i have been having fun names; they are: Albert, Jenny, Antoinette, and now Oscar. No offence is intended for any "person" ... and they are not names of anyone i know. ;) ...just saying! :)

Oscar ... no slouch, nor grouch

but mean just the same.

It's sad that things such as the Oscar have been relegated to the dustbin. There was a time when they actually meant something; but like the Nobel Peace Prize, politics often come into play which have absolutely nothing to do with the original intent of the award. My preferences are not geared by awards nor the critics. In fact, I tend to prefer the things they don't.

Like most have reviewed, the line about men stuttering their manhood is a stand out.

I don't watch the Oscars but when a movie or actor/actress win an award and I enjoyed the show or performance I feel a small joy for the winner.

Indeed so sought after that such awards in my country often are pre-arranged or in other words bought. Not so sure about the Oscars though. But the sheen is wearing off slowly but surely...

We have lost our values. Indeed we never really had them as such glitz was a false sheen upon a morally corrupt society that attended church each Sunday but was immoral the rest of the week.

The great times of true entertainment and creativity are gone where legends used to be made and true values of the society upheld. Now everything goes with lowly politics and hidden agendas of the powers that be behind the scenes. It used to be a show to inspire other generations but it is sadly a showmanship of egos. Well, I almost got it right, my first thought from Oscar, was Oscar Schindler from the movie Schindlers list, which won quite a few Oscars if I recall. Poor junkless Oscar :)
