Self made celebrities decide they will tell us who should run the country and how. Then they accept millions of dollars to star in movies advocating the exact opposite views. There is no meteor shower making them great....they have self imposed power. Wonderful write....the varied margins are so effective. Great work, E. Lydi**

Sadly it seems making movies is more about money than art or making a statement. Your poem once again is thought provoking and speaks the truth of this industry. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Happy New Year, too!

I am stopping by your place right now ..love and peace Dara .. it is a new morning every morning isn't it!? :))

To be honest, your writes always have this inspiring effect on me...like they trigger some poetic part in me...reach out to my muse somehow...and your writes are always so fresh, E. Much like your reviews...you always have something new to dish out!!! :)))
We are the masters of our life, and must not change our personality or views because of the media and celebrities...dante said it well...the darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain neutrality in times of peril....we need to be steadfast and firm in our opinions and change them only when we think they're wrong not while trying to mimic a celeb or to fit in withttoday's media obsessed crowd...
ps great write as always! It's very aesthetically pleasing the way you've arranged your words....
And and of course I missed you and your writes!!! :))))
Hugs!

Ps...Happy new year, E!! (I know I'm terribly late)
I got the shudders when I read this immediately thinking of the Kardashians and their rise to fame on the masses wanting more ugh! Yes actors have become reality tv these days whereas in the old days, there was more respect and privacy, today media attention is rife, nothing is sacred when money talks. A fine write young sir!

Far-reaching stars are hard to reach when pompous and full of glittering boastfulness by media and persons. They become hypocrites to gain more fame and control over issues working for the leftists or rightest. A very powerful political poem...:)............

in the old days we had movie stars...real ones...because we looked to them as so...as role models, as us...today the actors make themselves stars before we get a chance to...they elevate themselves most often...but the substance isn't what it used to be. They put their own "tags" on themselves.
i just get mesmerized and inspired when i read you...makes just want to start pounding the keys, myself.
Roger Ebert from wherever he is now would give this poem a big "thumbs up"!

Someone once said to me "I don't have heroes". Which I thought was strange because I do. But although some actors are on the list, 'film stars' are not. There are some films that can provoke feelings, that are art. But the mass are dross. Pity I still watch them. They can never beat words and 'proper' bound books though.
What I like about your work is the way you take my mind for a walk.

Probably ended up where they should have in the first place ; in the cutting room bin. I would be interested in discovering your heroes. Einstein Noodle,
"At the movies" is such a true picture of how life can feel like a movie sometimes..............Not. No perfect endings, perfect relationships......etc, etc, I was able to totally identify with "you the pro- tag- o- nist." We do make a difference whether we like the result or not. Kathy
