Self made celebrities decide they will tell us who should run the country and how. Then they accept millions of dollars to star in movies advocating the exact opposite views. There is no meteor shower making them great....they have self imposed power. Wonderful write....the varied margins are so effective. Great work, E. Lydi**

I understand your statement about hypocrisy & this is an eye-opening example I hadn't thought about, since I never watch any show or film with gun violence. My humble opinion is that both sides, liberal & conservative, are guilty of huge hypocrisy, so I won't take this micro-focus to be representative of the whole political scene. Still, it's always good to have such hypocrisies pointed out so we can all work on doing better. I like your stair-stepped font layout & your dicing of the word "protagonist" . . . always fun to visit your wordplay & interesting to encounter your viewpoints! (((HUGS)))

There are two parts of this piece to review: the poem itself and the video.
1. The poem itself.
Firstly, I am drawn to the format. I often use a similar technique of splitting syllables such as (pro) tag (o) nist. It emphasizes its importance to focus on parts of speech as well as the definition. Films have the tendency to display "protagonist" and "antagonist" from a black and white standpoint. However, I enjoy movies that make the antagonist sympathetic or the main character. For instance, the film "John Wicke" is about a retire assassin. He is not the cookie cutter antagonist since he use to kill people for a living. However, we sympathize with him as his wife dies of cancer and thugs kill his dog. He turns into the protagonist and antagonist.
I do agree that actors and celebrities can be "pompous" and egocentric. Fans turn them into idols which can be more fatal than guns blazing.:P
This leads us into the debate of advertising gun violence in the film in the second part of my review.
2. The video.
I may have missed the point regarding the hypocritical stance on guns between actors. haha, My initial response was, "I adore the snippets of these films such as Django, The Whole Nine Yards, and so on. I don't think it is fair to condemn actors for having gun violence in works of fiction."
Film is an art created for interpretation. I think these films show us the horrors of firearms along with the positives. Personally, I was raised by farmers and hunters so they will tell you to respect and show caution. There is a difference between acting and reality. Actors are very different from the roles they are cast in so I don't believe they are advocates of gun violence nor hypocritical in advertisements or interviews.
Overall, I hope you are not offended by my POV. I consider you are talented writer and respect you immensely. haha I also hope my review did not sound like a contradiction. Furthermore, I think blaming the media (film, music, video games, etc) is absurd. People make their own choices whether they be ignorant or intelligent.

I thought that might be the case where you were pro gun rights. I think that people especially in politics get so carried away. They are either hardcore against guns or a gun nut. :P I think we have arrived at a similar perspective on hypocrisy. haha I think I even got carried away because it reminded me of the debate regarding "blame entertainment" for violence in reality.
haha This poem woke me up yesterday. The jolt was far more potent than coffee. Have a splendid day, my friend!

ps. we rarely sat in the back... middle frontish was our preferred haunt ..
Yes - I have actually put a lot of thought into this.
So, if we create our own reality and we make movies with guns and death and general themes of the world ending, then what, pray tell, are we creating for ourselves? Seems kinda like really dumb. Like everything though, it all comes down to money, baby- 'show me the money!!!' It offers us a chance to escape, but to where, more death and violence?
man we are capable of so much and yet, we choose to limit ourselves ... survival of the fittest will come down to those who rememebr how to 'tap in' to the universal flow isstead of always wanting to 'tap out' ...
i agree with your words here E...

Funny how media in general is a tool
used to influence and induce change
only do they necessarily always put the correct message across
and somewhere down the line they lost the point of it all
Nice one
very thought provoking

This radiant Swift-Tuttle shower also gave La La Land 14 Oscar nominations. Hollywood is LA La Land. A self fulfilling prophesy of living in a bubble filled with glitter. Nicely set out and said in style Einstein.

Amorality begets amorality; depravity fosters depravity; insanity breeds insanity.
Hollywood "stars" know nothing but their hateful satanic world.
Should we be advised by soul-less puppets?
Meaningful work, E!
