now why haven't I thought of writing about it? not in a poem though. you did that pretty well.
people won't openly talk about it but it certainly is the favoured retreat of many. mine at any rate. that's where I make important decisions like getting married or deciding to have kids.
good to read you again, E.

The first time I read this I did not catch onto the humor until I started playing the music video. HAHA I went into hysterical laughter because of personal experiences in the bathroom I can relate to. It reminds me of my hectic home life where it is hard to find private areas; the restroom was ideal. I even have a floating desk for the bathtub so I can write, read, and sketch while listening to the music. Honestly, I could probably just live in there because I spend at least 30 minutes to an hour every evening. My boyfriend teases me because he has caught me eating in there along with having wine. There is a reason why my feet are so prunes now. :P I have also took bathroom breaks during work where I would read for 15 minutes on the toilet.
Overall, this is my ramble for the day. Thank you for sharing this fun and lighthearted poem!
sincerely,
ria

After veiwing your video and reading your bathroom story it makes sense. Minutes pass opportunities can be claimed or lost. Why not treat this time as constructive time for thoght, contemplation, etc. After all who is going anywhere at least for awhile. Really clever poem! Blessings. kathy

Your poem & Woody's response to it reminds me of the beginning of the movie "This is 40" where Paul Rudd is sequestered in the bathroom to get some alone time . . . all 3 hilarious! Maybe I've been pissing in the woods too long, but I didn't recognize everything you're describing here. Still I always enjoy your slightly over-the-top descriptions which are imaginative & original *smile* (((HUGS)))

I must admit I have never been one for hanging out in the 'loo' for extended periods of time, well unless there is a bath full of bubbles and a good book awaiting me. A friend of mine has a stack of magazines next to her toilet, this has never sat well with me ....
On the other hand, when I am showering in he wee early hours and still have not fully woken up I will stare at the tiles, I will see people in the patterns, ah, from day to day they change, an old lady, a man, an angry fellow, a witch, they are all there waiting for me to prize them into my reality, if only for a few solitudal moments ...
this is a quirky one for you ... I like it ... X

Glad I'm not the only person to write poetry while on the on the dumper....right? And, you are right the most private, most secretive place we have. No one will ever ask what goes on the bathroom stall. I call it my office.

sorry E, I will not go there, nope, I already have enough secret places to hang out in, so the bathroom is only to s**t and stink in... ;0) I found the secret service idea pretty interesting protecting secrets but I suspect also the "throne" as well... and also very amusing thinking about two or three guards standing outside the john, perhaps checking ID and making sure only a certain kind of bomb is admitted... can't be too careful you know... hey E, maybe this is were that lost poem is hiding??!! ;0) I liked the humor and inventiveness of this poem, dare I say you have a nicely creative mind and you take us to unusual and in this case smelly places... ;0)
