Footstool (in collaboration with Zahra and advise from Arturo)

Footstool (in collaboration with Zahra and advise from Arturo)

A Poem by Einstein Noodle

The Footstool

with grandiose beginnings
wrapping three walls
plied high with pillows
Ottomane of velours d'Utrecht

life continues its pirouette,
igniting an ignis fatuus
shapes generating and erasing each other,
there is dark - and light there is

as if our cosmos filtered
on point
lift your tired feet
place them on my back

as God is man finding place
earth his footstool
engineered within such architecture
we become grains of heaven

Engineered within such architecture

I feel this line encompasses the entire poem...a hand behind the creation of Earth, urging it to move...

But it is as you both have said (very eloquently), we are the Greater God's footstool, until we humble ourselves before God and creates again - this time transforming who we are into something beautiful...

i wonder how he feels about what he has made?
the earth---he smiles. man---he ponders...

why do we treat each other as we do...and why do we treat the earth the way we do?
seems to be more dark than light....

great collaboration..sounds like one...just one small edit...first line, second stanza..."its pirouette"

but a really poignant write....about creation and the results...and what God has to think about as he watches with his feet up on the footstool...

I imagine Him looking upon us proudly at times, other times shaking his head asking what the hell we're doing.

Very interesting! As everyone else implied the whole poem was beautiful, but the ending is fireworks. Great job!

Perhaps it's just my opinion, but I think the closing verse could do well on its own merit! Bravo to the mixing of muses!

My best,
