"Mushroom Clouds in Magic Land" IN COLLABORATION WITH FRIEDA

A Poem by Einstein Noodle
"

i am missing Ms. Frieda and decided to re-post this poem which we did together .. i am so angry how one very nasty person was able to drive her from the Cafe :(

"
Mushroom Clouds in Magic Land

Tapped upon a mushroom cap's fancy,
to see if the rabbit hole was rumor
curiouser and curiouser
     about the unimaginable avenue,

She opens my mind and
fear grips my colors
from the hinterland .....                   tremors
wink
           and blink
                              and nod

As I sat upon my newfangled gumption
   common sense took a recess,
spoke in rhyme to the tune of absurd
     to my surprise, the scaramouch
                 of a head talked back

my birthing in darkness
          musk and dank scent
knocks        my shroom
head explodes
            collide's scope intense

in his elegant persuasion,
made a date for half past daft
took me on a dip of a mystical carpet trip
alas,  we've lived happily ever after
upon a prime floating island in a cloud

clouds of words
spilling like rough gouged stones in
tumbler's majestic insane
forever now i

re-pronounce her name

beginning and

end... ;)

What a superb collaboration from you and dear, dear Frieda = yours are minds that walk the same space.. perhaps!

There's so much in this piece, the colour and highlights take the reader into a world of bewilderingly spaced.out somewhere. The phrasing you've used is another language, a magic not to be translated - and who would want to do that...all of us!

Lewis Carrol would undoubtedly want to join the two of you in another collab, happily sharing his enlightenment via any means - even holding the breath and flying off and away with the daisies. . Brava and brava again.. Loved this. Great musical accompaniment, by the way... ..

"Wink and blink and nod...." love that! I often think the clock is stuck at "half past daft" in this crazy world we live in. Frieda is missed by many at WC, but it seems she will never return. Sad on so many levels really. Your collaboration with her was wonderful. Lydi**

I liked your mention of winken, blinken and nod, LOL. There is more than one rabbit hole, yet I think we have all found ourselves tumbling down one or another and wondering how the heck we got there. Luckily Alice was able to push beyond the absurdity and find her way despite the array of characters she stumbled upon. Perhaps if we keep our heads about us while others lose theirs we will find our place, not below ground, but in the sun.

LOVE IT! I'm always a sucker for wordplay, so my favorite parts are "my shroom" and "collide's scope intense," but I am also a huge fan of "half past daft." While I love these moments of wordplay, when doing something like this you have to be very careful that it doesn't get too 'purple,' so every word has to be on lock. There are a few teetering moments in here, but nothing egregious as to keep me from thoroughly enjoying it!

collide's scope intense----This was a trip! You never cease to make me laugh. The shroom...hysterical. Thank you for collaborating with Frieda to produce this delightful trip to an altered state of dysfunction. I almost feel like I was down that particular rabbit hole with you! Great write, my friend. You captured the magic carpet ride perfectly.

"Mushroom Clouds in Magic Land." Hmph. I loved the double entendre in the title where it implies both something that feels like a drug-induced fantasy and a disturbance in a magic land like that of a an atomic weapon yet still retains the fantastical atmosphere of the land. The rush of love feeling both euphoric and destructive in one's hands, and always ending in the same place: reiterating the memories of love just in that day alone, let alone in all the time that your speaker has known that person.

Intense poem, well done.

Yay for wonderland writing! There must be mushroom dust in the air from the explosion, influencing our minds. You two did so well on this. I loved the "half past daft" line, all of them really, but that one had me bouncing off of the walls. Or was it the ceiling. I feel as though the room had flipped... ;)
