"A'Rising Reeling" Collaboration with Frieda

A Poem by Einstein Noodle
"

i am re-posting this oldie because i was asked to ... to keep dear friend Frieda in remembrance here at the Cafe' ..in the hope that she will one day come back to us .. peace and joy to all! <3

"
A'Rising Reeling

Have you looked square into the eye of death's dragon
whilst the sky was falling down in ember's shadow
fire burning blood mountain tops where god should be
butterfly wings clipped in the namesake of austerity

spelled Wyverns hording antiquity's gifts
even in sleep red eyes mesmerize
striking deaf and dumb all who so
foolishly dare fly into the lair on shivery aileron

skeletons in smoky closeted dust
prey upon the mind's placidity
graying the essence of coma's stake
suspended in lethargic dormancy

osteoporitic clickety clack
thighs calves and tendons rendered
under the leech bloat belly of Smaug
Puff never was real; Jackie Paper remains delusional

Loch Ness roars a Scottish highland's lullaby
murky bodies of water sync in disconnect
discontent of an allusion's regimented menagerie
Requiem's Mass hysteria hijacked greener pastures

'A Rising Reeling'
Einstein Noodle,
I was intrigued and inspired by this poem at the same time.
This one touches the reality of confusion and discouragement
-when hope is gone- when evil and or or chaos then fills hopes place.
The metaphors of dragons and the surrounding powers of darkness
swirl throughout this writing.
"Fire burning blood mountain tops where god should be
butterfly wings clipped in the namesake of austerity"
The thing that is so interesting and even lovely is to see
that it was a collaboration between two people which really played
well off each other and that is just plain cool. The whole peice was
stunning and I had to read it through several times. I also like the ending.
Loch Ness roars a Scottish highland's lullaby. The theme continues all through
of what is desired and comforting looked for but not found.
Impressive for sure!
Blessings,
Kathy

Dragons and butterflies eh? Well of course they don't mix but the two of you seem to have blended your voices well in this piece. Great collaboration!

Not that I am being biased because you've mention Loch Ness and Scotland but this is my favourite stanza. You guys write so incredibly well. Two of my favourite writers on this site come together and write something so amazing it knocks me over. The imagery and tone of the poem is just out of this world. I have the utmost respect for you two - I love both more than words can say! xoxo

E.
An indelible slam of gothic mysticism that has me ready to take up Sir Gawain's sword and go hunting for the Green Knight in spite of my mortal trepidation...I was sure I looked into that deathly dragon's eye, but having read the account you two crazies have put forth here, I now wonder if it was just a random flare of headlights slicing through the dark that caught my eye...so much fire and smoke and blood here, and the clickety-clack of dancing skeletons, it's all so ominous...no place for butterflies to be sure...I could never define in technical terms how to 'sync in disonnect,' but when I read a collab from you two, I know just what it means...you never fail to come up with something special you two, and this one is no exception...I feel like my hair is on fire, having crossed paths with a dragon...I hope it wasn't death's dragon ;)

Haha Let the Freak flag fly Mrs.R...always a pleasure slaying your two-headed krakens ;)
the scary thing is that it isn't always that which is outside of us that is the most dangerous...
those dragons on the inside really bite and breathe terrible fire.

nice blend...i saw the second and fourth stanzas as Frieda's

and the last sort of a mixing together of both of you...
really liked this cute bedtime story a lot...:)))
