"A'Rising Reeling" Collaboration with Frieda

A Poem by Einstein Noodle
"

i am re-posting this oldie because i was asked to ... to keep dear friend Frieda in remembrance here at the Cafe' ..in the hope that she will one day come back to us .. peace and joy to all! <3

"
A'Rising Reeling

Have you looked square into the eye of death's dragon
whilst the sky was falling down in ember's shadow
fire burning blood mountain tops where god should be
butterfly wings clipped in the namesake of austerity

spelled Wyverns hording antiquity's gifts
even in sleep red eyes mesmerize
striking deaf and dumb all who so
foolishly dare fly into the lair on shivery aileron

skeletons in smoky closeted dust
prey upon the mind's placidity
graying the essence of coma's stake
suspended in lethargic dormancy

osteoporitic clickety clack
thighs calves and tendons rendered
under the leech bloat belly of Smaug
Puff never was real; Jackie Paper remains delusional

Loch Ness roars a Scottish highland's lullaby
murky bodies of water sync in disconnect
discontent of an allusion's regimented menagerie
Requiem's Mass hysteria hijacked greener pastures

'A Rising Reeling'
Einstein Noodle,
I was intrigued and inspired by this poem at the same time.
This one touches the reality of confusion and discouragement
-when hope is gone- when evil and or or chaos then fills hopes place.
The metaphors of dragons and the surrounding powers of darkness
swirl throughout this writing.
"Fire burning blood mountain tops where god should be
butterfly wings clipped in the namesake of austerity"
The thing that is so interesting and even lovely is to see
that it was a collaboration between two people which really played
well off each other and that is just plain cool. The whole peice was
stunning and I had to read it through several times. I also like the ending.
Loch Ness roars a Scottish highland's lullaby. The theme continues all through
of what is desired and comforting looked for but not found.
Impressive for sure!
Blessings,
Kathy

Since I haven't seen too much new stuff being posted on your spot (too busy buzzing amazing wood sculptures, I'm sure!) . . . I went digging back. I didn't know Frida, but she's fondly referred to by many at the cafe, so this one caught my eye. The blend of your styles seems seamless to me, I can't tell where one starts & the other ends. I love that this could apply to spooky Halloween sentiments, which seem more & more like real-life, the way our world goes topsy-turvy here & there. I believe more people are reeling more often than they admit. Life can be dizzying! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Reading through this, knowing Frieda from way back and you for quite a while, just can't find the joins.. Or the variation of thoughts complex, contemplative, daemon-ish and - mesmerising in a very odd way! There are emotions dark and searching here; can't see a stronger voice, and even if could, wouldn't opt that this line is better than another..

Frieda was such a dear friend. We laughed and giggled together, she taught me to laugh openly at myself, and - we hugged across the water when one or other needed that little extra girlie comfort! I reckon she might peep now and again, purely to grin at our misdemeanours!

Meantime, Gene, having found that i'd reviewed so many of your recent poems, look what i found here: Treasure from treasure itself! Thank you!

You wrote this with Frieda Pickle? The most amazing poetess who ever rode the internet poetry dragon?
There are so many amazingly sublime and brilliant lines in this flowing evocative poem that I do not doubt it. You are a wonderful collaboration. And I miss her too!

This is a pandora’s Box of goodies here, such lovely imagery of doom, maybe hope and dark themes. Who would have thought two heads wrote this as the blend makes the write seem written from one! Yes, on a second look such a delight to read, great lines, vivid imagery, what a pleasure!

Frieda of all poeple had her own personal demons which she chanelled so well into her poetry.
Frightening, nightmare images penned with such clarity, and death of anything beautiful is found in a requiem mass...

Brilliant... the both of you.

This is a journey of suspense, of escaping dragon's eyes, of challenging life's difficulties and coming out victorious. A hidden message to fight on, never give us and leave the critics in the dust bin of history. What a collaboration. She shall be missed.
