The Depths of LoveA Poem by F.GentilTo whom my heart is given
My soul could not go on,
I would drown inside the bottle, Lose myself to the world, and its mouth my life would be swallowed, My body would be so hallow, No life inside this heart, I would become full of anger, My whole world would be dark, And you think I would be right, You think you'd give me life, And I say time and again, I would be blacker than midnight, And I wouldn't cry and I wouldn't laugh, Seconds I would want to have back, Entangled in happiness, I wouldn't search for no more to fill your place That remains a fact. And my mind wouldn't be the same It'll constantly be replaying, The visions I had for us, The visions that never came. And I bleed eternal pain, And it seeps from out my pours, I would snort so much cocaine Until I laid motionless on the floor. For your love is what I need, It keeps me from the darkest dreams, of demons who want my soul, The darkest dreams you never seen. So lose me, and I'll be through, I'll lose my urgency to speak the truth. I would revel in all my tears. And would not live for more than a year.
