Kobra Kid's terrible, no good, very bad day and the hopeful future.A Story by Isaac CrashKobra Kid and Jet Star have been going out for some time, without telling the leader of their crew - Party Poison, Kobra's older sibling. Trouble starts when Kobra's monthly bleeding is very late.
Kobra Kid was mortified.
- He and Jet Star had been "going out" for some time now. It was difficult casually keeping time in the Zones, but it's definitely been way more than a few full moons. Of course, the "going out" involved... Lovemaking. That's what they liked to call it anyways. And Kobra recalled Jet always pulling out before coming. Almost always - until they had gotten a pack of condoms from some city-runners. Without Party Poison's knowledge. Oh, witch, what was Party gonna say? They didn't know *anything* about Kobra and Jet. Who would've known the condoms were faulty? That's just an assumption - Kobra tried to calm himself down. It did not work. He was panicking. It was bad. He felt sick. Well, he felt sick often recently, but now was for a completely different reason. Time was difficult to keep track of in the zones, but Kobra knew for a fact that he should've started bleeding *some* time ago. And that his tits were not usually enlarged enough to be visible and painful. F**k. - The crew was currently visiting the diner - the Girl had gotten a bit sick and all of them needed to stay in one place for some time anyway. Kobra was currently on the verge of full-on sobbing in the dirty bathroom booth outside. Had been for a while. 'Kobra?' He heard his sibling's voice. 'You okay in there?' 'Yeah' He tried to say. Tried was the key-word. It came out more like something between a sob and a hiccup. Kobra cursed internally. He felt absolutely pathetic. 'P-Party? Can we... can we talk?' A moment of silence. 'Uhm, okay. I'm coming in, 'kay?' Party said quietly and opened the door. Kobra knew he looked terrible. He had put on some makeup before, which now was streaming down his face, his hair was all messed up and he was sitting down on the toilet with his legs pulled up. He did not look up at Party. He sobbed. 'Oh Kobra… What's going on? What happened?' the redhead immediately felt their protective older sibling instincts kick in. 'Do I need to f**k someone up?' They asked. 'No' Kobra closed his eyes in shame. 'Why don't you listen first?!' 'Okay, f**k. No need to get all aggressive on me.' Kobra hid his face in his hands. Why the hell was he acting that way? Was it all just too much for him? 'I'm sorry. Sorry. Don't get angry. I'm-' He almost choked. Party felt their rising anger fizz out. It was clear that whatever Kobra had to say was... Important. They crouched down to be on face level with their brother. 'Yeah?' Kobra sobbed again, starting to feel lightheaded and more tense than he could handle. 'Please don't get angry. I'm. I think I'm f*****g pregnant'. 'Oh my f*****g witch.' was all Party could say. 'Oh f**k!' Kobra had not stopped crying his eyes out, trying to choke back any sounds. 'W. Wait' Party grabbed his hands and pulled them away from his face, trying to process what they just learned. 'For realsies? You know who with?' 'Yes!' Kobra pulled his hands away from Party's hold. 'Of f*****g course I do! I don't f**k everyone I meet!' He would've burst into tears if he wasn't already crying. Party squinted. It wasn't like *they* fucked everyone they met either, but it still felt sort of offensive. 'Okay, f**k. I'm gonna ignore that. We'll... We'll find them, right? If you want to. And um, I'm sure Jet can do something about it, right? He's taken medical courses for s**t like that. I'm pretty sure. And it's, uh. It's gonna be fine?' Party rambled on, running their hands through their arm-length hair. Kobra froze for a moment. 'Jet? What... What do you think Jet has to do with this?' He spoke unsurely, still petrified. He knew he had to tell Party soon, but it wasn't like he couldn't wait for the moment. 'Um.' Party blinked. 'He's the medic. So I'm pretty sure he could... Y'know. Take care of the... situation.' The younger didn't know what to feel. It was like he was on the edge of an abyss and any kind of choice would change his life forever. Maybe something *should* change. 'Party' He whispered. 'Party, if I'm pregnant... I'm keeping it.' Party Poison stared. 'I mean. I'll talk to Jet... And we'll see what we'll do... But I want to keep it.' He stared at his sibling with wide eyes. Party Poison stared. And clenched their jaw. 'Talk to Jet? To see what you'll do?' They tried talking carefully, but came across as holding back anger. Wow, Kobra immediately thought. I fucked it up! He closed his eyes. 'Party. Me and Jet, um... We've been...' He swallowed. 'We've been... y'know... together. For a longer while.' The redhead stood up. They turned to the wall and leaned on it. They trembled. They saw red. 'And you. Just. F*****g. Didn't think to maybe, uh, f*****g TELL ME?!' They hissed-yelled and gripped the dirty, cracked sink. 'Oh, cause now I have to tell you EVERYTHING about my private life!?' Kobra jumped on his feet suddenly. He squinted angrily at his sibling and felt he was getting hot very quickly. 'I'm your goddamn lead!' Yelled Poison. 'And I'm your f*****g older sister!' 'So now I'm not allowed to have any f*****g secrets?! Anything for myself, we have to share everything?!' 'This is more than one tiny f*****g secret! And I'm the only family you've got left!' 'You're not even my real sibling' hissed Kobra. 'You're just so f*****g attached and delusional you forgot I'm my own f*****g person with my own f*****g ties!' Poison flexed their muscles. They stood quietly for a second. 'So now you're saying I'm not your family, huh?' They said. 'That I should go f**k off and never see you again? That because we're from different families we should f**k each other over and I'm not allowed to ever know anything about you?' 'Why don't you ever LISTEN?!' screamed the younger. 'Maybe if you would you'd know I never said ANYTHING like that! You're always so f*****g irrationally angry and controlling, you b***h!' 'So now I'm not allowed to feel emotions, you w***e?! And it's totally not like YOU'RE always going out of your way to f*****g get into fights and f**k yourself up on a motor track and-!' Party rambled, volume rising with each word. 'Who are YOU f*****g calling a w***e?!' Kobra yelled and charged onto Poison. He wasn't heavy, but he was definitely taller than them, which served as a great advantage. Poison's head broke the (already cracked) mirror behind them. Kobra Kid backed away when the older hissed, blindly caught the back of their head and slumped forward. He stood there, terrified, for a second, then ran out and slammed the door behind him. He vomited, then, still crying, ran to where their car, the Trans AM was parked. He jumped inside without hesitation and laid down on the back seats, sobbing and feeling even worse than before. He curled up. -- Party Poison felt like ground was swept from under their feet. No, it wasn't /swept/ from under their feet - their brother and one of their best friends ripped the world from their surroundings, sending them spiraling into abyss with no piece of reality to hold onto. In other words, Party Poison felt betrayed. They hissed in pain and pressed their palm to the back of their head. With the sensation came the realization that the collision of their head and the mirror probably drew blood. They stumbled out the bathroom shack and looked around. When they didn't see Kobra Kid, Party scowled and entered the diner. Fun Ghoul and the Girl were listening with fascination to some story that, ugh, Jet Star was excitedly telling. Probably some tall tale from his days with his previous crew. Poison didn't necessarily want to give him the evil eye right then, but. They believed what Kobra told them. Which meant that /Jet Star/, one of their friends, fucked their /little brother/. Which Poison was definitely not okay with. Ghoul, though... It was reliable as always. It didn't f**k their brother, it didn't keep stupid secrets from them... If it didn't know about Jet and Kobra. Which was a matter to be investigated later. 'Oh, hey, Party!' Jet stopped her story in the middle of her sentence. 'You okay? Where's Kobra?' She asked tentatively. Party squinted at him. 'I'm fine. And why don't /you/ go talk to Kobra?' they growled and slammed the door behind them, feeling hot again. The group exchanged glances, then Jet stood up and walked over to Party. He didn't get too close, though. 'What do you mean? What happened?' She asked. Party would bet she knew what had happened. So they didn't say anything and walked up to the table Ghoul and Girlie were sitting quietly at, bumping into Jet on the way and sat down heavily. 'Party?' What did... What did Kobra tell you?' He looked at the ground, preparing for an unpleasant conversation. The conversation didn't come - Party Poison just looked at him coldly. 'Okay, okay, I know you're angry, but-' 'I'm not f*****g talking to any of you!' Poison screamed, tears welling up in their eyes. They turned away from Jet and pressed their forearm to their face. Jet looked unsurely at Ghoul and the Girl, then power-walked out of the diner. 'Party... Party...' Ghoul whispered. 'Can you not f*****g yell at me and Girlie?' It said in a normal tone. ''Sides, Jet was telling us about something.' the Girl chimed in. 'What'd he do to you?' she asked, furrowing her eyebrows. Party sniffed. Just once. They tried not to look at their friends. 'Kobra-' they couldn't finish the sentence and sobbed. Ghoulie and Girlie looked at each other and sighed. © 2023 Isaac CrashAuthor's Note
