ConfusionA Chapter by CaradactylChapter 11Foster was furious when Dawn had leaped off the train, but Dawn had gotten off at a stop that would either lead her back to the main entrance, or around in a giant circle back to the train. So Foster took a chance and rode the train up to Station A. He had quickly hopped off and ran to the lobby, shoving people violently out of his way. Just as he had gotten to the front of the airport, he looked around quickly. Foster quickly ran through the glass doors and stepped outside. He looked around but saw nobody that looked like Dawn. Just then, he heard a squeal and looked to the left to see a guy about his age push a girl into a pile of luggage and run away. As the people around rushed over to her, he just shook his head and walked back in. The very first thing he caught sight of when he walked in was Dawn limping through the people. He then started walking towards her, determined to grab her and leave. But Dawn stopped in the middle of the crowd, almost as if she had forgotten something. She turned back through the crowd, and Foster saw someone grab her. Stepping closer, the crowd moved and he saw Lucas hugging Dawn. Something flooded Foster’s mind. Something like anger, and sadness at the same time. He was confused at this feeling. He didn’t even care about the brat that much. He stared at them as they let go of each other, and when Lucas turned, he looked straight at him. Dawn saw him, too, and backed away. A few seconds seemed like an eternity as Lucas glared at him, and suddenly, Lucas ran for the doors with Dawn. Foster didn’t even chase after them; he just watched them go. As he watched them, his mind shifted to his sister and mother. Now that Dawn was lost, he knew that his family was as good as dead. Foster turned and walked over to the nearest chair in the lobby and sat down, putting his face in his hands. What was he going to do now? Minutes passed, but he never got up off the bench to see if the other men had noticed they were gone. He didn’t care if they found him, he was worried about Dawn. Even though he didn’t want to admit it, he was fond of the brat. She was like another sister to him. He felt like he was the one being kidnapped now, and he wished that there were a way out. But wait, she wanted to be kidnapped, right? So why did she take off with Lucas so fast? Just as his mind questioned it, he felt a hand on his shoulder. He looked up and saw Dawn standing in front of him, Lucas right beside her, protectively. She gave him a tiny smile and said, “We’re going to help you.” He looked at the blonde boy, but he only nodded, stone silent. © 2011 CaradactylAuthor's Note
