![]() Upon The Hill of NeverA Poem by William Steele![]() This si the first poem I ever considered finished. First loves inspire wonderful things.![]() As we sit there together,
For thanks to you I find again, A heart that can be whole dear friend. And as I reach to hold your hand, Upon the hill of Never.
Never to be ever was, For ever was must have an end. Now as I say to you again, On our ridge called Never.
I’ll hold you close in darkest night, Then everything will be alright. For nothing can intrude our flight, Above the hill of Never.
Never to be, Never to end, We can always be together again. Up in the clouds, Against the wind, Forever land of Never.
As the sun shall rise down far below, Where tiny people fear and grow, This land will never change its flow, Not ever will it never.
This land it represents our bond, Like a light upon which both are drawn, You and I two heartfelt spawn, Of life and love and never was.
As the sky fades blue to gray, I finally gain the strength to say, I love you more each passing day, Here in our land of never.
So as we sit there, Hand in hand, The moon shines down over Our land, The two of us, For never was, Upon the hill of Never. © 2016 William SteeleAuthor's Note
