![]() As We Look Upon the Midnight SkyA Poem by William Steele![]() A look at love in nature's more vulnerable and yet connected moments.![]() As we look upon the midnight sky, Shine through the sky, With you tonight.
And as my hand is clasped in yours, I will climb the moon, Swim to the shores. Of yonder reaches yet unseen, By eyes like ours, So ready to be.
The trees around us sing their song, They weave their picture, To right a wrong. By holding us so far apart, We now together, Will never part.
The grass it sways unto this voice, It lingers there, As if by choice. So full of love our hearts combine. My hand in yours, Your heart with mine.
The sky does bear its purple shade, To show its beauty like it was made, For both of us, For you and me. Not meant for life, But just to be.
As we look upon the midnight sky, I look to you, And now know why. The stars do shine not just to be. They also shine for you and me. © 2016 William SteeleAuthor's Note
