THE MAGNIFICENT TREEA Poem by WILDERNESSThe Magnificent Tree In the shade of a Majestic
tree Awed by its might and its
span A hundred lives or more it
nurtured Birds on its branches,
squirrels ran What a magnificent thing of
nature A bond between a tree and
man The rumbling leaves became a
voice “Take a lesson from me”,
while you can Was there something for
people to learn? Perhaps a forest wisdom or
life plan You are a traveller in a
tavern, where All are not equal, some big
some small But A rolling stone gathers
no moss Have deep roots if you wish
to grow tall Open your branches to all
creatures Accept all, whatever their wherewithal
All these seasons, every
life must see It’s not always spring, not
always fall Nurture young ones, help them
to fly Cherish their flight and
beckon their call FAH 2019 © 2019 WILDERNESSReviews
